This collection contains materials (1987-2002) related to the National Maritime Alliance from its beginning as a proposal in 1987 and its formal founding in 1988. Included are correspondence, by-laws, minutes, grant applications, trust proposal, incorporation documents, conference materials, and reports. The Alliance represents a diverse group of museums, historic preservation groups, businesses and individuals all devoted to preserving our maritime heritage. Dr. Runyan has been on the Board of Directors for a number of years.

This collection consists of a large scrapbook dedicated to B. Bruce Sugg, Jr., upon his retirement from the Board of Directors for the North Carolina National Bank. The scrapbook includes ads, articles, and photographs related to the State Bank Trust Co. and the North Carolina National Bank. The two banks merged in 1969, while Sugg, Jr., was Senior Vice President and Trust Officer. According to sugg family members, the ads were written by Mr. Sugg.

Papers (1782-1956, undated) related to the John Gideon Taylor family of Pitt County, North Carolina, including correspondence, legal papers, estate papers, financial papers, post cards, photographs, newspapers, advertising ephemera, genealogy information, Bible records, and miscellany.

Collection (1930s-1970s) of North Carolina Ferries manuals such as "Specifications, Pamlico Sound Ferry, Virginia Dare," "NC State Ferry Operations;" also a NC State Highway Commission manual; also NC State Ferries and NC Board of Transportation forms; and NC State Highway Commission ferry boat plans and contract plans. Collection consists of material related to the history of the Lynndale Garden Club of Greenville, North Carolina, from its founding in 1974 to 2016. Included are meeting minutes, executive board minutes, newsletters, photographs, clippings, yearbooks, brochures, membership rosters, treasurer reports, constitutions and by-laws, and engagement calendar books put out by the Garden Club of North Carolina, Inc., which contain photographs of winning arrangements by garden club members (including members of Lynndale Garden Club).

In this oral history interview, Dudley Flood speaks about his childhood, family life, career in education and work towards desegregation in the North Carolina public school system, his other work towards promoting equity through involvement with various organizations, and other civic service.

The University Personnel Department was responsible for recruitment, placement, and employment matters. The Empoyee Handbook record contains employee handbooks from 1974 through 1985 as well as a benefits handbook from 1986.

Papers of father and son physicians Zebulon M. Caveness and William F. Caveness. The papers consist mainly of books of medical school notes; medical correspondence, certificates, and documents; a patient ledger from Zebulon M. Caveness; and a Curriculum Vitae from William F. Caveness.

This collection consists of the records (1938-2014) of the Betsy Dowdy Chapter (Elizabeth City, North Carolina) of the DAR. Included are thirty-nine scrapbooks (1939-2012), fourteen Constitution Week scrapbooks (1979-2008), minutes (1938-2009), executive board minutes (1988-2010), award certificates (1970s-2014), treasurers' reports and other financial records (1992-2011), publications (1938-1958), and loose items (1940s-2000s). The scrapbooks contain photographs, clippings, programs, minutes, brochures, and circulars reflecting the activities of the Betsy Dowdy Chapter.
