Papers of Reynolds Price (1853-1986 [Bulk: 1978-1986]) documenting the life and literary career of the prolific Macon, North Carolina-born American poet, novelist, dramatist, essayist, and educator at Duke University; consisting of manuscripts, loose manuscripts transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection relating mainly to his publications A Common Room (1954), Mustian (1983), Private Contentment (1984), and to Reynolds Price: A Bibliography, 1949-1984 (1986), compiled by Stuart Wright; also photographic prints; proofs of works Price reviewed for publishers; and printed materials and oversized materials.

Papers (ca. 1796-1939, 1963) relating to the Abbott, Sumrell, Phillips, Fife, and Trout Families of Contentnea Neck Township, Lenoir County, North Carolina, and Johnson County, Indiana.

The collection includes correspondence, printed materials, photographs, grade reports, teaching certificates and testimonials, legal documents and newspaper clippings which document the life (1891-1975) of Lenoir County, North Carolina, school teacher Julia Catherine McDaniel including her education at Hollins Institute in Virginia and her teaching career (1912-1960) in Burlington, Bethel, and Lenoir County, N.C., schools. The collection also touches on the lives of her friends, classmates, colleagues, and students and includes materials concerning the McDaniel, Harvey, Linton and related families of Kinston and Eastern North Carolina.

Collection (1904-1909) of grade reports, tuition bills, and academic progress letters relating to the education of Mattie Archbell Anderson at Dortch Academy, Rocky Mount, NC; Littleton Female College, Littleton, NC; Louisburg College, Louisburg, NC; and Louisburg Female College, Louisburg, NC. Also included are items (2008-2010, undated) related to Mrs. Anderson's daughter Mattie Archbell Anderson Bishop of Enfield, NC.

Papers (1923-1993, 2001, undated) including correspondence, writings, newspaper clippings, photographs, and pamphlets related to the life of Robert Edward Harrill (1893-1972), known as the Fort Fisher Hermit from about 1955 when he moved into an abandoned World War II bunker at Fort Fisher, North Carolina, until his death.

Papers (1777-2022) relating to John Baxton Flowers III academic career, family history and Scottish genealogy (Flowers, Kennedy, and Thompson families of Wayne County, NC), historic preservation, horticulture and garden history. Included are correspondence, financial and legal papers, academic records, newspaper clippings, photographs, typescripts, genealogical material, publications, certificates, house plans, watercolor drawings, and newsletters.

The Records of East Carolina Men's Basketball are comprised of press handbooks, media guides, gameday programs, and game footage.

Heavy creases at folds, Tattered bottom edge only slighting affecting image, Moderate foxing. Framed in decorative full wooden frame and matted in wide linen matt with acid free matte board. Johnson's North and South Carolina, (1864). 17-1/2 by 23-1/2 image. 1-1/2 to 2 inch matting. Heavily ornate steel engravings at boarders with 3 insets of images of Table Mountain, Chimney Rock, French Broad River and a Plan of Charleston. Evenly browned with crease at center fold. Hand-colored. Made on wove paper. Location: Vault.

Virginia partis australis et Floridae.., (1671-1673) (Militaria Germanica Communia) 11-1/4 by 13-1/2 image size. 2-1/2 - 3 inch linen matting over acid free inner matting. 20-3/8 by 22-3/8 decorative wooden frame. Two "professional" repairs and one repair with tape: one in the land image and one in the ocean. Contains a watermark on the left side of a fools cap. Location: Vault.
