Collection (1942-2005) of materials belonging to Wray Raphael Herring, a member of the U.S. Navy B-1 Band which was the first all-African American Navy Band during World War II. Included are programs, clippings, sound recordings, yearbooks, concert programs, poems, and sheet music.

This collection contains letters (1964-1967) written by brothers Terrence and Dennis Miller of St. Louis, Missouri, who joined the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Letters written by Dennis Miller during 1967 document his time serving in Vietnam as part of 3rd BN, 60th Ord Co. Also included are letters written by fellow soldiers and friends (through 1971), service records, negatives, military payment certificates, and Vietnamese money.

Papers (1891-1918) including correspondence, legal materials, financial records, ledgers, estate papers, real estate records, political material, letters and miscellaneous concerning Jesse W. Grainger of Kinston, North Carolina, a very successful truck farmer, owner of the first tobacco warehouse in Kinston, and very active in civic affairs.

This collection includes The History of the World War II Submarine Chaser, USS SC- 632, 1942-1945.

The Nell Wise Wechter Papers contains copies of the author's books, Taffy of Torpedo Junction (1957), Betsy Dowdy's Ride (1960), Swamp Girl (1971), and The Mighty Midgetts of Chicamacomico (1974). Also included are the typed and written drafts, typed manuscripts with revisions, original manuscripts, and galley proofs for her books. There is also correspondence from the Library of Congress, British Embassy, and Mariners Museum regarding Wechter's requests for information to assist her in writing her novels.

This collection contains political brochures, posters, and mailings (1990s-2020) related to mainly Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina and U.S. Congressional races although some relate to Presidential elections. The focus is on Democratic Party candidates, but also includes some items related to Republican Party rivals.

The Henry Ferrell Papers include professional and personal correspondence, committee and departmental reports, materials related to his scholarly works and research, including the book "No Time for Ivy," and materials related to his participation in professional and civic organizations.

Included are five ca. 1950 black and white photographs of the exterior of Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church in Pitt County, North Carolina. The photographs show people standing outside the front and side of the building. Also included is a clipping about member Mrs. Ella Hudson's ninety-third birthday celebration.

Collection includes two folders of 48 items primarily of correspondence, letters and financial documents for a transport business that shipped commodities by riverboat.

St Thomas Episcopal Church Collection established in 1696 in Bath County North Carolina. The collection is a photographic print of a church altar circa 1910.

The John W. Warner Papers (1947-1986) document the career of filmmaker and entrepreneur John W. Warner, with a primary focus on the creation, financing, distribution, and later rediscovery of the independent film Pitch A Boogie Woogie. Dating chiefly from 1946 to 1958, with additional materials from 1986, the collection includes correspondence, legal and financial records, promotional materials, memorabilia, scripts, photographs, and audiovisual media that illuminate the business and creative challenges of independent filmmaking in the mid twentieth century. Supplementary materials reflect Warner's broader professional activities in North Carolina, including television production and local theater operations. Together, the papers provide insight into regional film production, film exhibition and promotion, and the processes through which a largely forgotten work was reclaimed and recontextualized by scholars and the public decades later.
