Photograph album documenting the travels (1951) of the USS Seiverling through stops in Pearl Harbor, Midway, Japan, and probably Hong Kong, participation in the Taiwan Strait Patrol, and bombardments near Songjin, North Korea. Photographs depict not only the activities of the sailors, but also activities of the local people. Also included are photographs of other U.S. Navy ships, and small boats carrying surrendering North Koreans.

Papers of Richard Wilbur (1948-2008, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted New York City-born American poet, translator, and educator at Wesleyan University and Smith College, who was associated with the New Formalist movement, and who became poet laureate of the United States; including correspondence with John Ciardi, W. S. Merwin, and Louis Untermeyer, manuscript typescripts, audio recordings, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, printed materials, proofs of published materials, and oversized printed and photographic materials.

This collection contains about 363 cubic feet of material documenting the Congressional career of Lunsford Richardson Preyer. Mr. Preyer (January 11, 1919-April 3, 2001) of Greensboro, North Carolina, served in the U.S. House of Representatives for twelve years (January 1969-January 1981).

This collection (2001-2008) has printed material, minutes, correspondence, ephemera and other documents donated by Dr. Keats Sparrow who participated as a member of the North Carolina First Flight Commission and its Education Committee during the 100th Anniversary celebration of the First Flight. The collection also contains a 2003 commemorative booklet "First Flight Visions celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Powered Flight," information from the International Commission's 2001 Flight Symposium about the Wright Brothers, photographs, clippings, and brochures. Other items are a travel mug, automobile license plate, pins, shoulder patches and commemorative items.

Papers (1976-2011) of Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Executive Director of the North Carolina Clean Water Management Trust Fund and lobbyist for Conservation Council of North Carolina and the Sierra Club, North Carolina Chapter, including correspondence, newsletters, pamphlets, handbooks, magazines, legislative summaries, memos, reports, newspaper clippings on microfilm and miscellaneous documents relating to environmental issues.

Papers of John Montague (1978) documenting the life and literary career of the Brooklyn, New York-born, Irish-raised poet; consisting of the photocopy typescript of a poem entitled The Great Cloak; transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, 12/1/2014.

Papers of Philip [Milton] Roth (1981) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Newark, New Jersey-born American novelist and short story writer, consisting of galley proofs ofZukerman Unbound, by Philip Roth (New York, NY: Farrar, Straus, and Giroux, ©1981); also a holograph note card.

Collection (1841-1959, undated) of manuscripts, genealogical materials, photographic prints and printed materials related to the James N. Dickey family of New York and Michigan and William Symington Brown, M. D., who served as a surgeon in the 33rd and 55th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment, 1863, during the Civil War. Unrelated is a photograph of U.S. Vice President Barkley attending a Roosevelt Dinner held at East Carolina Teachers College (now ECU) in 1950.

Correspondence (1917-1919) of U.S. Navy enlisted man.

Diary written by Edward L. Williams, while serving in the United States Marine Corps, describing his voyage, aboard the USS Alaska, to the European Station under the command of Captain Samuel "Powhatan" and under the direct supervision of Captain W. R. Brown, including their cruise along the Italian coast , frequent port calls, shipboard life, behavior of sailors, and his friendships and acquaintances among the ship's crew.

Manifest duplicate (15 December 1794) of the Sloop Agnes, bound from Edenton, North Carolina, to New York, New York, carrying barrels of tar, turpentine, and pitch, Thomas Hunter and William Williams, shippers.

Papers of Robert Buffington (1979), documenting the life of the noted Illinois-born American literary critic and educator, biographer of John Crowe Ransom and proposed biographer of Allen Tate, who was also managing editor at The University of Georgia Press, consisting of an article entitled Young Hawk Circling, related to the early life of Allen Tate, originally published in The Southern Review (Fall 1979).

Papers of Merrill Moore (1929–1987, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Columbia, Tennessee-born American poet, physician and psychiatrist, who became a leader and spokesman for the Fugitive Group of Southern poets that included Robert Penn Warren and Allen Tate, among others; including correspondence, manuscript materials, printed materials and loose manuscript materials from the Stuart Wright Book Collection.
