Papers (1847-2023) relate to the family, genealogical, and professional activities and interests of Eleanor Galliard Simons Flowers, a native of Charleston, South Carolina. Topics include South Carolina history (especially Charleston and the Low Country) and participation in S.C. chapters of Children of the Confederacy and the UDC, Colonial Dames, Huguenot Society, and Society for Preservation of Spirituals; and organizations in Augusta, Georgia, and in Hendersonville, North Carolina where she lived after marrying John Baxton Flowers III. Materials include correspondence, programs, clippings, newsletters, ephemera, photographs, periodicals, pamphlets, brochures, and related items.

Collection (ca. 1936-1997) relates to the life and career of Arthur Greenville McIntyre; an Lieutenant Commander of the United States Navy who was a U.S. Naval Academy graduate (Class of 1941) and who served in the Pacific theater of World War II. McIntyre served on the submarine U.S.S. Grenadier until it was lost in April 1943 by Japanese bombing. As a result of the attack, he became a prisoner of war of the Japanese and was not released until September of 1945. The bulk of the collection is on McIntyre's naval career but there is also material containing his biographical information and information on his time as a prisoner of war. Of particular interest are documents that have information on the Japanese who ran the POW camps and who were tried in the war crimes trials that were held in Japan. The documents lists their names and the sentences they received as a result of those trials. The majority of the documents in the collection are in English but some are in Japanese and Spanish with no translation.
This collection consists of a book that has late 1700s Tison family birth, marriage, and death dates on the fly leafs and on the margins of pages. The book is titled, An Alarm to Unconverted Sinners in a Serious Treatise and was written by Joseph Alleine, late Minister of the Gospel at Taunton in Somersetshire [England], in 1672. This edition is the 1767 Boston, N.E. [New England] printing. On page 224 of the book is written, "Jonathan Tison his book baught [sic] January the 18 day 1775. The price 5S." The book is probably from the Farmville, North Carolina, area.
