Also includes also photos of families and friends; White and African American residents; the sitting rooms of Mrs. C. B. Elliott and Mrs. R. L. Papers (1929-1974) of Rear Admiral Wilson Durward Leggett, Jr., U.S. Naval Academy graduate of 1920 and Tarboro, North Carolina, native, including correspondence, photographs and photograph album, newspaper clippings, an order book, newsletters, journals, scrapbook, etc., documenting his Naval career and work with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute School of Science and the Joint Committee on Atomic Energy.

Taylor & others; also including notes, oversized materials, photographic prints, printed forms, proofs of published works, loose manuscript materials transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, & printed materials; in English & French language.

National Youth Administration (1938-1942), and administrative assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force (1964-1971) among other positions.

Papers (1942-1972) of a U.S. Navy officer, including original memos, reports, newsletters, photographs, a certificate; and photocopies of war patrol reports and maps for the USS Flying Fish, during World War II.

This collection contains correspondence (1928-2013) between Hattie Lou Cannon Schneider in Tampa, Florida, and her mother and sister and other family members in Pitt County, N.C. The earliest letters were written by Hattie Lou as a child living in Pitt County and a few letters were written to her before and right after her marriage to Charles Leland Schneider, Sr., in 1945 when she was stationed as a WAVE at the Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. Also included are photocopies of two photographs, family history charts, and an autograph book which belonged to Hattie Lou Cannon when she was a member of the 1935 Senior Class at Winterville High School in Pitt County, N.C.

Papers of Nancy [Anna Westcott] Hale (1971) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Boston, Massachusetts-born journalist, novelist, playwright, and artist; consisting of an unbound, oversized, galley proof of her novel Secrets (1971).

Papers of Cleanth Brooks (1951-1986) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Murray, Kentucky-born American editor, literary critic and educator at Yale University, who was influential in the New Criticism movement as editor of The Southern Review, 1935-1942; consisting of loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, including Brooks' signed contract to sell his books and literary periodicals to Stuart Wright correspondence between Brooks, George Garrett Stuart Wright; also a reprint of Milton and the New Criticism, by Cleanth Brooks (1951).

Collection (1942 – 2014, undated) of programs, notes, photographic prints, etc. documenting the history and membership of the U. S. Navy B-1 Band, the first All-African American band to serve in the U. S. Navy during World War II, including reunion programs, historical and biographical sketches and photographs of the band and its members, rosters, and the music and lyrics for naval hymns.
