Papers (1908-1967, undated) pertaining to the military career and personal life of Lieutenant General Robert Frederick Sink (1905-1965), a graduate of West Point, a pioneer in the use of airborne warfare, who commanded the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army Airborne Corps, during World War II, 1942-1945, participating in the Allied Invasion of Normandy (1944) and the Battle of the Bulge at Bastogne, Belgium (1944-1945); and served as Chief of Staff of the RYUKUS command based on Okinawa, Japan (1949); as Assistant Commander of the 7th Infantry Division in Korea (1951); as a member of the Joint Airborne Troop Board at Fort Bragg, North Carolina (1954); and as commander of the Strategic Army Corps (STRAC) and the 18th Airborne (1958); he was promoted to lieutenant general, in 1959, and took command of the U.S. Army in the Caribbean, a post he held until he retired in 1961 due to poor health; he died in 1965; the collection consists of correspondence, clippings, manuscripts, photographs & printed materials.
Papers of Edmund J. Lilly, Jr.(1894-1978) a U. S. Army artillery officer in World War I and World War II, who served as commander of the 57th Philippine Scouts and regimental commander, experienced the Bataan Death March and was a POW until 1945. The collection does not include the originals, but facsimiles of Lilly's military records, correspondence, clippings, a hymnal, letters, and photographs.
Collection (1942 – 2019, undated) of documents, programs, notes, correspondence, interviews, and photographic prints documenting the history and membership of the U. S. Navy B-1 Band, the first All-African American band to serve in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Material includes historical and biographical sketches of the band and ites members, and photographs of the band, rosters, the music and lyrics, interviews, and documentation of race relations in North Carolina, the United States, and the United States military during the 20th century.

It includes 69 black and white, 8" x 10" photographic prints and 3 mimeographed typescripts on the United Nations Command Military Armistice Commission meetings held at MAC HQ Area, Korea, in 1963 and 1 mimeographed typescript on "Unusual Joint Duty Officers' Meetings" from 1 January 1954 to 1 October 1963.

Sloop Agnes Collection
#0843Manifest duplicate (15 December 1794) of the Sloop Agnes, bound from Edenton, North Carolina, to New York, New York, carrying barrels of tar, turpentine, and pitch, Thomas Hunter and William Williams, shippers.
The four month stay in Cuba of the 1st Battalion, 1st North Carolina Volunteers, from December 1898 through March 1899 is documented in these sixty amateur albumen photographs with captions. The photographs are 3 1/2" x 3 3/8" in 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" mounts. The soldiers arrived in Havana, Cuba, the day after the Treaty of Paris was signed ending the Spanish American War.
