This collection (1980-1995) documents the Greenville Area Preservation Association (North Carolina) from its beginnings and includes articles of incorporation and bylaws, minutes, correspondence, subject files, membership records, financial records, Heritage Tour files (1981-1982), photographs, a scrapbook, and records concerning the publication of the The Architectural Heritage of Greenville, North Carolina.

Papers of Kelly Cherry (1972-1999 [Bulk: 1995-1999]) documenting the life and literary career of the prolific Baton Rouge, Louisiana-born American novelist, poet, essayist, educator at University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Virginia among other universities, and poet laureate of Virginia 2010-2012; consisting of typescripts of Paula: An Odyssey: A Novel, Parts 1 – 4) (1995-1999), an unpublished volume; a broadside of her poem Loneliness: Words for a Secular Canticle (1980); also including loose manuscript items transferred from Kelly Cherry's works in the Stuart Wright Book Collection Augusta Played: A Novel (1978-1979), Conversion (1980), and Sick and Full of Burning: A Novel (1972-1989).

Papers (1911-1945) including correspondence of Bogue Banks, dairy farm, letters commentary, social activities, republican committee, financial papers, manuscripts, pamphlets, blue prints, etc.

Papers (1917-1932, 1974) of a World War I veteran who served in the 310th Ambulance Train, 78th Division, including correspondence, documents, historical reports, rosters, ephemera, memorabilia, photographs, postcards, printed forms, and printed materials.

Papers (1942-1985) of U.S. Navy Captain including correspondence, citations, certificates, programs, clippings, photographs, and miscellaneous items. Ruder served in World War II on the USS Phelps and in submarines during and after World War II.

Collection (1821-2000, undated [bulk: 1989-2000]) of correspondence, family histories, genealogical charts, copies of deeds, cemetery records, Bible records, miscellany and oversized materials relating to Christopher DeGraffenried, also known as Baron Christoph von Graffenried, who established a colony of Swiss and Palatine emigrants at New Bern, North Carolina, in 1710; and also relating to his ancestors and descendants and the DeGraffenried Association, of Gulfport, Mississippi and San Antonio, Texas, which was established to preserve the family history and to maintain contact between family members; in English, German, Italian, and French language.

Papers (1904-2009) including correspondence, clippings, programs, magazine, photographs, sermons, and ephemera related to the career of Rev. Cuthbert Warner Bates of the North Carolina Methodist Protestant Church Conference.

Collection (1936, 1941-1942) consisting of a photograph album of the S.S. ZamZam, an Egyptian-owned ship, its crew and passengers, including 120 American missionaries (from 21 different denominations), tobacco buyers and other passengers traveling from New York to Alexandria, Egypt, via Capetown, South Africa, who survived sinking by the German raider Tamesis 17 April 1941, including newspaper and magazine clippings, photographs, periodicals, correspondence, and photocopies of an autobiographical account.

The Max Ray Joyner, Sr. papers include awards, speeches, financial records, general correspondences, photographs, newspaper clippings, ephemera, and post cards from 1940-2018.

Papers (1861 - 2025, undated) documenting the archaeological excavations of the Confederate defensive fortifications, river obstructions and fish trap on the River Neuse below Kinston, NC, and the Confederate ironclad ram CSS Neuse, relating to Capt. Joseph H. Price, commander of the CSS Neuse, and relating to Lenoir County, N.C., history in general including correspondence, notes, photographic prints and negatives (black and white), and publications.

Papers of John Crowe Ransom (1904-2000, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Pulaski, Tennessee-born American editor, poet, literary critic, and educator, including correspondence, manuscripts, photographic prints, proofs of published materials, printed material, audio recordings, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection and oversized materials, by or about W. H. Auden, Christopher Isherwood, T. S. Eliot, Robert Penn Warren, Richard Ghormley Eberhart, Randall Jarrell, Katherine Anne Porter, William Styron, Allen Tate, Peter Hillsman Taylor, and others, in English and French language.
