This collection contains records of Eric G. Flannagan & Sons architectural firm that relate to capital projects on the East Carolina campus.

Collection (1936-1985, undated) of programs (the majority published by Playbill), librettos and souvenir pamphlets documenting plays, theatrical dance and musical productions performed in New York City and Stockholm. The publications are printed in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Swedish languages.

Oral history interview with William B. Martin, Professor Emeritus from the College of Education at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, relating to his experiences (1941-1945) in the U.S. Navy during World War II, including his participation in the Normandy Invasion on June 6, 1944.

This collection includes a copy of a typescript of the autobiographical sketch written in 1893 by Eastern North Carolina physician and educator Richard Henry Lewis, Sr. (1832-1917). It refers to important family history in his background and describes important events in his life up until 1893.

Collection (1768, 1799, 1825-1865, 1887-1931, 1985) assembled by prominent Democratic politician, newspaper editor and historian Henry T. King (1861-1924) of Greenville, N.C. Included are the papers of Edward C. Yellowley (1821-1885), a Greenville, N.C., lawyer with particular emphasis on correspondence while he was serving as a Confederate officer in the Civil War; King's Weekly Newspapers (1895-1902); King's Sketches of Pitt County; and correspondence, speeches, verse, legal documents, clippings, broadsides, pamphlets, receipts, poetry, accounts, maps, and miscellany.

Papers of Allen Tate (1927-1996, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted American poet, biographer, editor, essayist, novelist and educator, including manuscripts, proofs of published materials, printed materials & ephemera, loose manuscripts transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, oversized materials, by or about Allen Tate, Ellen Glasgow, John Crowe Ransom, Peter Hillsman Taylor, Robert Penn Warren, Eudora Welty, and others; in English and Latin language.

Collection consists of five scrapbooks containing items related to the life of Judge Oliver H. Allen (b. March 20, 1850, Wake Co., N.C.; raised in Duplin Co., N.C.; d. December 16, 1925, Kinston, N.C.) and his ancestors and descendants. The date span covered is 1826 to 1980. Of particular interest are items related to Judge Allen's life, the Hicks family of Granville Co., N.C. (1826-1832 and photocopies of documents for late 1700s), the WWI service of William A. Allen and Judge Allen's sons Matthew H. Allen and Reynold Tatum Allen, and the lives of Judge Allen's daughter Martha Allen Barnes and her daughter Sarah Allen Barnes who married Benjamin Bruce Sugg, Jr. Items include clippings, correspondence, Oxford Academy and Trinity College student materials, photographs, resolutions, WWI military records, funeral bulletins, booklets, prints, and postcards. Additionally the collection contains courting correspondence (1912-1914) written by a Naval officer from Lenoir Co., N.C., while stationed aboard ships, at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and at Vera Cruz, Mexico.

Records of Lillabulero Press, Limited (1932-1983 [Bulk: 1966-1974], undated) documenting the history of Lillabulero Press, Limited, a small literary press, in Chapel Hill, NC and later in Northwood Narrows, NH, founded, edited and published by Russell Banks (1940-) and William Matthews (1942-1997); consisting of typescripts and correspondence, and proofs of submitted manuscripts and research materials, relating to Lillabulero Press, Limited, and its various publications, including Lillabulero Magazine, Issues Nos. 1 – 14 (1966-1984); Lillabulero Poetry Pamphlet Series, Nos. 6-17 (1969-1973); Lillabulero Prose Pamphlet Series No. 1 (1973); Lillabulero Portfolio / 1967; and oversized archival folders containing proofs of published materials (1967-1973).

Papers of John Updike (1946-2010, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Reading, Pennsylvania-born American novelist, poet, short story writer, art and literary critic, cartoonist, golfer and golf writer; including manuscripts and manuscript volumes, correspondence, clippings, photographic materials; also including drafts & proofs of published materials, including interviews for Writers at Work: Seventh Paris Review; original art; loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection; also oversized materials.

Reminiscences (1999) of Capt. Walter P. Murphy, Jr. (US Navy ret.) a member of the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1941, of his service (1941-1944) as a junior naval officer during World War II, including among other topics the incident of the submarine USS Sailfish sinking the Japanese carrier Chuyo.
