This is a typescript memoir written by Dr. W. Joseph Stell describing when he was a student at East Carolina College from 1954 through 1958.

This collection contains a single photograph album that highlights the Sandhills region in North Carolina from 1914 to 1921.

Collection (1917-1933, bulk 1918-1919) mainly consists of correspondence (29 May 1918-29 April 1919; 115 letters) between U.S. Army Pvt. Roscoe Jackson and his wife Lucile E. Jackson of Barnesville, Belmont Co., Ohio, and also with his father, mother-in-law, and grandfather during World War I. He writes from Camp Sherman in Chillicothe, Ohio, Camp Mills in Long Island, New York, and from France where he is serving with the 138th U.S. Infantry, A.E.F.

Diary (1862-1863) including photocopy, camp life, burning of boat, etc.

Papers (1786-1912, undated) consisting correspondence, land records, financial records, plat, summons, mortgages and receipts.

The Records of the Maritime Studies Program are comprised of administrative files such as meeting minutes and the USS Monitor projecy, correspondence, and audiovisual materials documenting the activities of the program.

Matriculation and lecture tickets for H. B. Marriott at the University of Maryland between 1881 and 1883. Also includes a letter stating Marriott had passed final test to earn doctorate in medicine.

Collection (1800 – 1834; 1860 – 1861, 1880) consisting of a business ledger jointly compiled by the Jones, Harvey & Aitchison Co. and the McPherson & Old Co., 1800 - 1834, companies owned and operated by shareholders of the Dismal Swamp Canal Co. during the construction of the canal; also a day book compiled by William Bagley, 1860 – 1861, pertaining to operations of a general store in South Mills, NC, which also includes Elizabeth "Bettie" Bagley's private diary, January - December 1880.

Correspondence (1861-1864) of Edgecombe County, N.C., soldier in Company F of the 30th Regiment of North Carolina Troops stationed in various locations in Virginia. All of his letters are addressed to his future wife, Miss Elizabeth S. Ward of Rocky Mount Depot, N.C. Two other letters are from North Carolina soldiers related to Miss Ward.

The Nell Wise Wechter Papers contains copies of the author's books, Taffy of Torpedo Junction (1957), Betsy Dowdy's Ride (1960), Swamp Girl (1971), and The Mighty Midgetts of Chicamacomico (1974). Also included are the typed and written drafts, typed manuscripts with revisions, original manuscripts, and galley proofs for her books. There is also correspondence from the Library of Congress, British Embassy, and Mariners Museum regarding Wechter's requests for information to assist her in writing her novels.

Papers (1942-1985) of U.S. Navy Captain including correspondence, citations, certificates, programs, clippings, photographs, and miscellaneous items. Ruder served in World War II on the USS Phelps and in submarines during and after World War II.

Papers (1913-1936, undated) including correspondence, notes, certificate, instruction book, a deed, letter during World War I, clippings showing illustrations of World War I.

Papers of medical historian Todd L. Savitt include articles, lists, and annual reports.

Papers (1909-1938) including diaries, notebook of reminiscences, an expense book and other financial records, photographs, post cards, a map, certificates, diplomas, bonds and miscellany.
