Papers (1966-1992, undated) of Carol Leigh Humphries, a Southern Baptist Conference missionary woman from Person County, North Carolina, including letters to family and friends in North Carolina documenting her career as a missionary in Jos, Kaduma and other locations in Nigeria, British West Africa; newspaper clippings related to Humphries' missionary work; also genealogical notes of Mrs. Emma H. Blalock.

Papers (1905-1999, undated) consisting of correspondence, minutes, reports, rosters, speeches, pamphlets, publications, yearbook, programs, clippings, photographs, farm ledgers, notebooks, bulletins, brochures, date book, deposition, will, contracts, inventory and poetry related to teacher Blanche Hardee Rives (1887-1973)and her family in Enfield, Halifax County, North Carolina. Also documented are her involvement in the Methodist Protestant (United Methodist Church after 1939),the Hardrawee Home Demonstration Club, the Halifax Co. Home Demonstration Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Halifax County Historical Association, Northeastern North Carolina Branch of the English-Speaking Union, Frank M. This collection contains two photographs of the internationally recognized conjoined twin brothers, Chang and Eng Bunker.

Papers (1926-2003) covering the schooling and naval service of U. S. naval officer, USNA class of 1931, Captain James H. Brown, including correspondence, reports, publications, clippings, and photographs. Extensive material pertains to his service during World War II aboard the USS SHAW (1940-1942), USS ABNER READ (1942-1944), and the USS AMMEN (1944-1945), as well as his service before and after World War II.

This collection contains two unrelated photograph albums of missionary and Y. M. C. A. related photographs of China. Some of the places captured are Taiyuanfu, Wu Ch'eng, Shanghai, Chin SSu, Tientsin, and Peiping. Note that not all the photographs are dated but each has a caption. The collection is estimated to date between the 1920s and 1930s.

Papers (1952-1986 [Bulk: 1984-1986], undated) documenting the life and literary career of Eleanor Clark (1913-1996), the noted Los Angeles, California-born American travel writer and novelist, who was married to the iconic poet, historian, and literary critic, Robert Penn Warren (#1169-014), and who was mother of poet and scholar, Rosanna Phelps Warren (#1169-079) and of sculptor Gabriel Warren; consisting of manuscripts, proofs, oversized materials, and loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection and relating mainly to her travel book Tamrart: 13 Days in the Sahara (1984); her novel Camping Out (1986), her short story The Fortress and Raggedy Ann (1982); and her travel book Rome and a Villa (1952).

Papers of James Still (1937) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Double Branch, Alabama-born American poet, novelist, short story writer, and school librarian, who focused on Southern themes; consisting of a bound, paperback, proof of his book of poems entitled Hounds on the Mountain (1937); autographed James Still on the front cover.

Papers of R. V. Verlin (1950-1970 [Bulk: 1970]) documenting the life and literary career of the prolific Cedar Falls, Iowa-born American novelist and short story writer, who was also a reviewer, editor, painter, lithographer and creative writing educator at the University of Washington, Columbia University, the Iowa Writer's Workshop, and Brown University, among other universities; consisting of proofs and manuscript materials relating to his novel Doctor Cobb's Game (1970) and loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection relating to Cassill's first novel The Eagle on the Coin (1950).
