This collection contains portions of two ledger books (1910-1930s) and one complete ledger book (1950s-1960s) documenting the church membership rolls of and claims payments made to the Conference by members of the Invitation AME Zion Church in Greene County, North Carolina. Also included are some birth, death, and marriage records, especially in the two older ledgers.

Joseph H. Price, commander of the CSS Neuse, and relating to Lenoir County, N.C., history in general including correspondence, notes, photographic prints and negatives (black and white), and publications.

House of Representatives and Greenville Mayor (1969-1971) Frank Marion Wooten, Jr. (1916-1992) consisting of correspondence, pamphlets, proposed bills, reports, petitions, resolutions, bulletins, periodicals, printed bills, and photographs. Crime and punishment-related topics, and tax issues are major topics covered.

This collection includes the papers of retired History Professor from Darton College (now part of Albany State University in Georgia) and author Dr. Royce G. Shingleton. These papers document his literary career in the fields of Naval History and mid-nineteenth century American South. His books include High Seas Confederate (about John Newland Maffitt), John Taylor Wood: Sea Ghost of the Confederacy, and Richard Peters: Champion of the New South; he also contributed to William N. Still's book The Confederate Navy. A native of Stantonsburg, North Carolina, Shingleton has done genealogical work relative to the Shingleton family that is also found in this collection.

Lemuel Showell Blades, III, (1933-2011) began his career as a lawyer and then went on to become the president of the Norfolk Telephone Company while serving on a number of committees in Elizabeth City, and New Bern, North Carolina. This collection spans from 1711-2011 and includes newspaper clippings, photographs, genealogical charts, letters, oral histories, books, videos, and career files. The strength of this collection is the genealogical overview of the several generations linking to the Blades family.

The Ormond Family Papers (ca. 1770-1925) include correspondence, land grants, financial records, school notes taken at Trinity College, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, and photographs pertaining to the Ormond and Turnage families of Dobbs, Greene and Pitt Counties, North Carolina. Considerable material pertains to State Senator Yancey T. Ormond of Greene County.
