Papers, 1937-2001, of U. S. naval officer, including diaries, scrapbooks, orders, photographs, biographical accounts, and other materials, compiled by Commander Charles P. Trumbull (USN ret.), documenting his naval career from his appointment to the U. S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD, as a member of the Class of 1941 to his retirement from the Navy in 1961, and his post-retirement life, 1937-2001.

Papers (1780-1969; bulk 1808-1924) including correspondence, land records, legal papers, financial papers, ledgers, etc., of two prominent Eastern North Carolina families--Grimes and Bryan--related through marriage. Other material concerns the Wharton and Conrad families of Clemmonsville, North Carolina, in Davidson County, who are also related by marriage to the Grimes family.

Papers (1775 [1932-1966] - 1980, undated) consisting of correspondence, speeches, a diary, essay, reports, photographs, an autobiography, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, maps, pamphlets, financial records and miscellany.

Collection (1848-2002) of Pace family papers, including documents; photograph and postcard albums; scrapbooks; loose photographs, deeds, legal documents, and newspaper clippings; printed yearbooks, catalogs, textbooks, and newspapers; genealogical charts, postcards, brochures, World War I Army Medical Corps documents, and ephemera relating to physician Dr. Karl Busbee Pace, Sr. and his sons, Dr. Karl B. Pace, Jr., Charles Taylor Pace, and J. T. W."Tommy" Pace and their families in Robeson, Chatham and Pitt counties, NC.

Papers (1946-1948) obtained by Richard Dillard Dixon, Jr., while visiting his father Richard Dillard Dixon, Sr., who participated in the of International Military Tribunal (for Nazi war crimes) held in Nuremberg, Germany, as a member of the judges Secretariat and as a judge. Included are mimeographed transcripts of some of the trials and related manuscripts, press releases, and wall charts delineating the hierarchy of Nazi German government and military system. Other papers (1870-1970) concern the life of Edenton, N.C., attorney, insurance agent, wholesale oil salesman and civic activist Richard Dillard Dixon, Jr.
