Papers (1934-1969) of N.C. State Senator and U.S. District Court Judge John Davis Larkins, Jr., including correspondence, speeches, judge's notes, case files, clippings, photographs, leaflets, scrapbooks, concerns of state fishery industry, information of osteopathic profession, etc.

Papers 1937-1997 (Bulk 1974-1997) pertaining to Lee A. Wallace Jr.'s military service during World War II, including a scrapbook documenting Wallace's service in Battery "C", 2nd Battalion, 113th Field Artillery Regiment (formerly designated 117th Field Artillery); also referred to as 113th Field Artillery Battalion, 30th Infantry Division, North Carolina National Guard, based in Washington, N.C., including newspaper clippings, orders, photograph prints, and rosters; correspondence and newsletters pertaining to 30th Infantry Division reunions; a copy of the American Battle Monuments Commission's pamphlet entitled "30th Division: Summary of Operations in the World War" (1944); also oversized maps of the 30th Division's offensive operations during World War I, 1917-1918, removed from the pamphlet; in English, Dutch, & French language.

Andrus, Jr. ("pAr") Typescript, 6 p.; Cleveland (OH) Harborfest (11-15 July 2001) "The Tall Ships Challenge" media kit, including correspondence, brochures, news releases, original art, photographs, and printed materials. 24 p.; Miscellaneous material including Cleveland (OH) American Accordionists Association Accordion Festival (11-15 July 2001) printed materials and notes in English and Ukrainian.

Papers (ca. 1793-2002, undated) of the history of the Grady family, of Duplin County, North Carolina including correspondence, legal papers, financial documents, clippings, and photographs relating to various members of the Grady family; also including biographical information on John Grady, who fought in the American Revolution and who is known as the first North Carolinian to die in the war; Benjamin Franklin Grady who fought in the Civil War for the Confederate States of America, and who served in Congress from 1890-1894; and John K. Grady who fought in World War I.

Papers include Joseph B. Philips record book, Walter E. Philips' memoirs, poems and other writings, and biographical information about several Philips men.

This collection contains clippings, signed petitions, correspondence, filed notes, and blueprints. There are indications that the material may have originated with N.C. State Geologist Joseph Hyde Pratt.

World War II ship's histories (undated) for the USS Barton (DD-599), USS Laffey (DD-459), USS McFarmland (AVD-14), and USS Monssen (DD-436).

Diary (Sept. 1943-Dec. 1944) of Joseph John Valinsky, a sailor aboard the USS Monterey, kept during World War II duty in the Pacific, along with correspondence, certificates, and military service identification cards.

The collection includes correspondence, minutes, programs, lists, dues information, journal reprints and articles, newsletters, receipts, clippings, reports, and photographs. Addition of January 2017 includes programs, newsletters, photographs, books, articles, clippings, deceased members files, Country Doctor Museum and East Carolina University alliance, and transcription project of the Country Doctor Museum oral histories.

This collection contains material (1735-2004) detailing the history of the A.C. Monk Tobacco Company and the Monk Family of Farmville, Pitt County, North Carolina, including financial records, correspondence, tax documents, audit reports, wills, estate records, stock certificates, deeds, receipts, ledger, press releases, portfolios, and blueprints, land records, clippings, publications and broadsides, and family histories and Farmville histories. Also included are photographs (daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, tintypes, cartes de visite, negatives, 35 mm prints, large framed images), and charcoal portraits, of Monk, Quinerly, Turnage, and May family members of Farmville, North Carolina.

Collection (circa 1988) of research material, interview transcripts, audiovisual materials, and clippings compiled by the donor for his UNC-TV documentary Boogie in Black and White, a film about the making of the movie Pitch a Boogie Woogie. This movie was shot in Greenville, North Carolina in 1947 using a local cast of African American musicians and actors, by John W. Warner, then owner of the Plaza Theatre in Greenville. The material in this collection includes an outline, subject background and questions regarding "The Block", a popular area in Greenville, all used for the making of Boogie in Black and White. Also included are questions for interviewees. Photocopy typescripts.

Included is genealogy correspondence written to and from Al Jones accompanied by pedigrees, family group sheets, and family histories (most written by Al Jones). Material is filed alphabetically by correspondents' last names. The main focus is the Jones family of Blount's Creek, Beaufort County, North Carolina, and related family lines including, among others, Tuten, Cratch, Stilley, Roe/Row, Orrell, Galloway, Searles, Harding, and Purefoy, and Pridgen.
