The collection consists of a photograph of Edmund Burke Haywood; a journal on medical practices by Hubert Benbury Haywood Sr.; and a scrap of a newspaper from H.B. Haywood Sr.'s journal.

The collection has personal papers, photographs, awards, and letters from Luther K. Edwards Sr. and L. Kenneth Edwards Jr. The letters are primarily from Kenneth's Louisburg College days between 1933 and 1934. Additionally, the collection has advertisements, licenses, pharmacy regulations, and a day book from the Stantonsburg Drug Company, which was owned and operated by Luther and Kenneth Edwards.

Papers (1887-1952) of Edenton, NC Judge including World War I, political, and Judicial correspondence; speeches, clippings; Nuremberg war crimes files; and Nuremberg war crimes transcripts.

This collection contains draft articles written by James Batten for In Restrospect, a history of the namesakes of the buildings on ECU's campus, as well as a published version of In Retrospect.

The U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation Collection: Thomas Onachila Jr. Papers consists of two photographs documenting the USS Leyte (CV-32), an Essex-class aircraft carrier active during the early Cold War and Korean War period. The images, dating circa 1950–1952, include a view of the vessel and a group portrait of its crew.

Eliza Arnold Hopkins Poe was born in 1787 in London. She was an actor and mother of American Poet Edgar Allan Poe. The collection is a photographic print of a miniature portrait of Elizabeth Arnold Hopkins Poe dated circa 1811. It was donated to the East Carolina Teachers Training School's Edgar Allan Poe Literary Society in 1914.

Material includes annual reports, data sheets, programs, sound recordings, publications, and correspondence related to the operation of the School of Music.

Papers (1864-1958 undated) of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, lawyer, judge, legislator, and gubernatorial candidate Richard Tillman Fountain consisting of correspondence, report, clippings, newspapers, law practice documents, letters, pamphlets, photographs, clippings, scrapbooks, and reports.

Papers of the Historic Halifax Garden Association include official documents (1975-1999) such as the constitution and by-laws, papers regarding tax-exempt status and a photocopy of the check handing over the remaining assets of the association to the Historical Halifax Restoration Association; two secretarial notebooks (1981-1989); a guestbook used at the opening of the Restored Eagle Tavern in Historic Halifax (June 29, 1981) and records belonging to past president Gwen B. Dickens (1975, 1979-1989) such as orders of business, attendance records, membership dues records, correspondence and material related to projects.
