This collection (1997-2014) contains financial documents in chronological order and marketing, client and other files organized by subject or county related to the sixteen member North Carolina counties represented by the NC Northeast Commission. In 2014, the NC Northeast Commission merged into NCEast Alliance.

Papers (1792-1969) including correspondence, financial papers,a diary, a cipher book, newspaper clipping, and a family history references to school, comments on Democratic Party, genealogical material, etc., related to the Sills family residing at Belford Plantation in Nash County, North Carolina.

Papers (1947-1970) associate educational supervisor, North Carolina State Board of Education, 1947-1969; consisting of correspondence, records and reports, work-plans, vouchers, guides, directories, forms, training material, newsletters, publications, memoranda, office schedule, applications, etc.

Personal files (1975-2000) for active North Carolina Democratic Party member and advocate for women Betty Speir, including correspondence, reports, agendas, minutes and memos pertaining to the equal rights amendment, the governor's crime commission, and state and local democratic party politics.

Collection contains mainly land records (1793-1867, 1889, 1912) pertaining to the Summers family of Guilford County, North Carolina. Also included are Richardson's Monitor of Free-Masonry written by Jabez Richardson (publication date unknown), and a few letters (1904-1924).

Collection includes a minute book for Knights of Pythias Dobbin Lodge #13 located at Fayetteville, North Carolina, documenting its beginnings on January 12, 1874, through July 26, 1876, a typed history of the lodge, three receipts, and two meeting invitation forms.

This collection includes various photographs, letters, and genealogical information related to several families from North Carolina and Virginia. Most of the collection consists of family photographs from the late 1800s and early 1900s, including pictures of unknown members of the included families and some buildings.

Papers (1859-1898) of Johnston County family, including correspondence relating to the election of 1860, conditions in Petersburg and Richmond, Va., in December 1862, the Battle of Fredricksburg and the Union raid on Mount Olive, N.C., agricultural conditions in North Carolina and Indiana; a crop lien, etc.

Papers (1782-1956, undated) related to the John Gideon Taylor family of Pitt County, North Carolina, including correspondence, legal papers, estate papers, financial papers, post cards, photographs, newspapers, advertising ephemera, genealogy information, Bible records, and miscellany.

The Earl Trevathan Papers are comprised of Greenville, North Carolina, materials relating to urban renewal, Greenville's housing problems, redevelopment, land utilization and marketability, and public education. Also included are articles and journals about Martin Luther King, Jr. and World War II.

This collection (2007-2010) is related to Patricia "Pat" Dunn's campaign for Mayor of Greenville, North Carolina, in 2007 and her first mayoral term in 2008 to 2010. Found here are her petition as an East Carolina University faculty member to obtain permission from ECU to run for political office, congratulatory letters and emails, photographs, certificates, the installation program, posters, highlights of her first term, and newspaper clippings.

Scrapbook created by Bertha Bulluck commemorating her time as a student at East Carolina Teachers College as well her early life in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The scrapbook contains letters, writings, newspaper clippings, memorobilia, and other personal items related to Bulluck's time at ECTC. Materials related to Bulluck's family and personal life were removed from the scrapbook prior to its donation by her family.

This collection (1980s-2010s) contains material related to the life of Michael J. Hamer, an English professor at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, from 1986 through 2013, and a prolific songwriter, singer, and band leader who died in 2017. Included are notebooks containing his handwritten lyrics, poems, photographs, reel to reel tapes, clippings, and other material pertaining to his musical career.

This collection includes many letters written during the American Civil War by Dr. Charles James O'Hagan, an Irish immigrant who settled in Pitt County, North Carolina, and served in the North Carolina State Troops as a surgeon, to his daughters; and letters written by Confederate soldiers to his eldest daughter. Also included are letters (1840s) from family in Ireland and testamonials written to help Dr. O'Hagan find employment; letters written in the post-Civil War era 1860s through 1882; and letters, photographs, and obituaries concerning the related Laughinghouse and Grimes families of Pitt County, N.C., in the late 19th century and early 20th century.
