Papers (1845-1907, undated) documenting the military, political, and personal life of Alfred M. Scales (1827–1892), Confederate brigadier general, U.S. Congressman, and Governor of North Carolina. The collection consists of mostly photocopies of correspondence, personal documents, and official communications relating to Scales's Civil War service, postwar political career, and family matters. Original items include an 1864 letter from Governor Zebulon B. Vance and a commemorative address by R.D.W. Connor (1907).

Records (1966-2006, undated) documenting the activities of the League of Women Voters of Pitt County, North Carolina, a women's political organization, including historical materials, board of trustees files, publications, clippings, research files, membership files, financial records, scrapbooks, oversized materials, correspondence, annual reports, photographic prints and slides, bylaws, and position statements.

Papers (1743 – 1985) of the descendants of Martin Whitford and Nancy Purifoi (Purifoy) Whitford, of Craven County NC, including David Purifoi Whitford, Susan Cox, Addison Purifoi Whitford, Pamela Toler and Edna Whitford Fisher, and consisting of land, legal and business records, genealogical charts and a family history, a photographic print, and the constitutions of the Mt. Lebanon Church and the Broad St. Church & Secondary School 100 Per Cent Loyalty and Service Club.

This collection consists of two chromolithographs produced by the Navy Records Society in 1901 depicting naval engagements of the Third Anglo Dutch War (March 27, 1672 to February 19, 1674). The prints illustrate the Battle of Solebay (May 28, 1672) and the Battle of Texel (August 21, 1673). The Battle of Solebay chromolithograph is divided into three sections, each titled to represent successive phases of the engagement and containing extensive printed inscriptions. The Battle of Texel chromolithograph is divided into seven sections, each bearing printed titles that mark specific times and stages of the battle and accompanied by printed inscriptions.

Collection (1945-1987) of documents, clippings, and printed materials relating to the members, officers, organization and activities of the Greenville Council of Church Women, Greenville, North Carolina, including support of UNICEF, World Day of Prayer, World Community Day, May Fellowship, Christian Education and Christian Social Relations. Also included is a rough draft (1928 ?) of the constitution for the Woman's Club of Greenville.

Collection (2005) of research material regarding the Battle of Wyse Forks, North Carolina, compiled by the donor for Through the Eyes of Soldiers: The Battle of Wyse Forks, Kinston, North Carolina, March 7-10, 1865, by Tom J. Edwards and William Rowland, edited by Ashleigh D. Brothers, published by the Lenoir County Historical Association, Kinston, N.C., in 2006, including typescripts of unit histories, excerpts from official records and published works, and manuscript maps of the battle.
