Empire Brush Company of Greenville, NC, Records

This collection (1924-2000) contains material related to the marketing of products produced by the Empire Brush Company of Greenville, North Carolina. Included are catalogues, price lists, marketing programs, advertising stickers and product wrappings, and original materials used in planographic printing of product wrappings. Although Empire Brush moved its manufacturing facility to Greenville Industrial Park in 1964, the collection also contains items relating to its pre-1964 years and some to Rubbermaid which bought Empire Brush out in 1994.

B. Bruce Sugg, Jr., Collection

This collection consists of a large scrapbook dedicated to B. Bruce Sugg, Jr., upon his retirement from the Board of Directors for the North Carolina National Bank. The scrapbook includes ads, articles, and photographs related to the State Bank Trust Co. and the North Carolina National Bank. The two banks merged in 1969, while Sugg, Jr., was Senior Vice President and Trust Officer. According to sugg family members, the ads were written by Mr. Sugg.

Rufus Delano Stallings Papers

Correspondence (1861-1864) of Edgecombe County, N.C., soldier in Company F of the 30th Regiment of North Carolina Troops stationed in various locations in Virginia. All of his letters are addressed to his future wife, Miss Elizabeth S. Ward of Rocky Mount Depot, N.C. Two other letters are from North Carolina soldiers related to Miss Ward.

Heavily ornate steel engravings at boarders with 3 insets of images of Table Mountain, Chimney Rock, French Broad River and a Plan of Charleston. Evenly browned with crease at center fold. Hand-colored. Made on wove paper. Location: Vault.
