Papers (1904-1934, 1945) consisting of copies of letters, telegrams, newspaper clippings, programs, decorating house, fashion, letters, strikes by workers, exchange rates.

This collection consists of the family records, photographs, and genealogy records collected by Sarah Westray Bunn of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. She was an East Carolina Teachers' College 1936 graduate and served in the Army Nurse Corps from 1941 to 1966. Included are genealogy notes concerning the Lewis, Suggs, Speight, Powell, Harrison, and Exum families of Eastern N.C.; late 19th century and 20th Century photographs; correspondence (1905-1998); an 1847 book of children's poetry; clippings; genealogy charts; and a tombstone rubbing.

Papers (1766-1898, undated) of the Clark and Spragins families of Halifax County, Virginia, including correspondence, financial records, legal papers, political reference, and miscellaneous.

The majority of this collection pertains to James V. Lobell of Maryland who was a leader in the footwear industry from 1913 to 1961; he founded Cavalier Shoe Polish Company which was purchased by KIWI in 1961. Included are business and personal correspondence, photographs, reports, shoe catalogs, and bound issues of Shoes and Leather Reporter (1910s-1920s). Papers also reflect his involvement with the Boy Scouts, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary (especially during WWII), and Business Education among other topics. The donor wrote his master's thesis on Lobell's life and materials related to his research are included, too. Unrelated to Mr. Lobell are clippings (1969-1978) and posters concerning Rose High School (Greenville, North Carolina) football and baseball teams; a broadside "Chronology of Pitt County History" created by Jessamine Shumate (1953); and North Carolina public school education-related documents (1906-1933).

Papers of Willie Jordan Batts include medicinal drug recipes, typed transcription of the recipes, and "Dr. Willie Jordan Batts, Esq., Botanic Physician" by Hugh B. Johnston Jr.

The Van de Sande Family Papers include paper soldiers, horses, and weapons Thilleman van de Sande made circa 1775 in the netherlands; two diplomas for Thilleman; document about Thilleman becoming a doctor written by A. Ypey; and a diploma for Daniel van de Sande.

Martin, Professor Emeritus from the College of Education at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, relating to his experiences (1941-1945) in the U.S. Navy during World War II, including his participation in the Normandy Invasion on June 6, 1944.
