Friends and Neighbors (FAN) Club was founded in 1973 by a group of neighbors in the Forest Hills neighborhood and Elmhurst/Englewood neighborhood of Greenville, North Carolina. They planned monthly trips and gatherings for meals with a host named for each monthly meeting. The scrapbook (1973-1998) includes photographs of events with later photographs containing thorough identifications of participants. Some few documents related to the club besides photographs are also included.

Papers (1963-2010) of East Carolina University History professor, 1969-2001, including correspondence; teaching notes and course syllabi for ECU History courses; drafts and manuscripts of papers, and publications; conference travel materials and professional association materials; lectures materials; University and History Department committees and activity files; materials concerning his education; and materials related to his participation in the Lutheran Church. Contained in this collection are materials originally owned by Dr. William C. Groves including medical lecture tickets from Pennsylvania College and a patient's death certificate.

The Phoenix Historical Society: African American History of Edgecombe County was founded in 2001 to recover, record, and promote the unique history of Edgecombe County (North Carolina) as experienced by members of its African American community. This collection contains the society's official records, brochures, event programs, and publications related to research, community events and sponsored projects.

Interview with retired science teacher, from Washington County, NC, whose father was director of prisons for State of North Carolina, who attended East Carolina Teachers College, worked in the Federal Bureau of Investigations crime lab, Washington, DC, taught science at Pantego High School, Pantego, NC, 1961-1968, and Pungo Christian Academy, Beaufort County, NC, 1968-1989. Collection (1841-1959, undated) of manuscripts, genealogical materials, photographic prints and printed materials related to the James N. Dickey family of New York and Michigan and William Symington Brown, M. D., who served as a surgeon in the 33rd and 55th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment, 1863, during the Civil War. Unrelated is a photograph of U.S. Vice President Barkley attending a Roosevelt Dinner held at East Carolina Teachers College (now ECU) in 1950.

Collection (1954-1780, 1861-1866, 1916) consisting of letters, Revolutionary War currency and Civil War money.

Collection (1973–1989) of color slides documenting J. Y. Joyner Library at East Carolina University, in October 1973, prior to the construction of two extra floors and the addition of a new west wing to the building, for Library Science 1000 class; also photocopies of correspondence, historical research reports, and newspaper clippings about the Greenville Town Common Confederate flags controversy, in 1983–1989; also photocopies of newspaper clippings about the Confederate flag, 1983–1989. Collection also contains 4 photographs of individuals from the Collins-Becton family.

This collection contains political brochures, posters, and mailings (1990s-2020) related to mainly Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina and U.S. Congressional races although some relate to Presidential elections. The focus is on Democratic Party candidates, but also includes some items related to Republican Party rivals.

This collection contains the research materials used by Philip S. McMullan, Jr., in his consulting work and in his study of the Blacklands area of North Carolina which is bounded by the Albemarle Sound on the north and and Pamlico River on the south. McMullan's research resulted in the book North Carolina Blacklands Treasure, published in 2016, which he coauthored with Cy Rich, Jr., who was the first president of First Colony Farms, and First Colony Farms employees Joe Landino and Steve Barnes. McMullan consulted on the First Colony Farms Peat Mining Proposal and an Economic Impact Study for a joint First Colony Farms (owned by McLean Industries) and Prudential Insurance farm development project (Prulean Farms) in mainland Dare County, North Carolina.

This collection consists of original photographs, photographic prints (copies), negatives and proof sheets (ca. 1890-1900, 1950s -1970s) documenting history in and around the area of Murfreesboro, North Carolina. These consist primarily of images of businesses, buildings, boats and ferries, mills, cemeteries and gravestones, architectural features of interest, churches, schools, people and historical houses.

Includes information about the grant project, biographical sketches for each physician featured, and video recordings of all four public forums.

The collection includes publications created by the ECU School of Medicine and the University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina, formerly Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
