Included are family and historical documents such as legal records, maps, family trees, correspondence, clippings, genealogical notes, and photographs, and artifacts from or pertaining to Enfield (Halifax County), North Carolina, Whitaker, Vinson, Harris, and Beavans families. Also included are drawings and articles related to The Holme (ancestral home of the Whitakers in England), information about Whitaker's Chapel, the writings of John W. McGwigan (author of weekly column "Ramblin" in the Enfield Progress), and William H. "Bill" Mann, Jr.'s work on the history of Enfield.

Papers of Richard Wilbur (1948-2008, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted New York City-born American poet, translator, and educator at Wesleyan University and Smith College, who was associated with the New Formalist movement, and who became poet laureate of the United States; including correspondence with John Ciardi, W. S. Merwin, and Louis Untermeyer, manuscript typescripts, audio recordings, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, printed materials, proofs of published materials, and oversized printed and photographic materials.

Papers (1947-1960) including correspondence, references concern Bible, auditing of books, school events, receipts, pilgrims, and miscellaneous.

Collection contains letters, scrapbooks, photographs, negatives, newspaper clippings, and financial records.

Yvonne Cobourn speaks about her time as a student at East Carolina University in the late 1970s, including her classes and her on and off-campus jobs including working with Dr. Steven Riggs. She discusses her life in Greenville, North Carolina including local restaurants and attending musical performances at the Attic nightclub.

Frances Brake discusses her time as a student at East Carolina College, her family's farming in Edgecombe County, North Carolina, and her teaching career.

Included is genealogy correspondence written to and from Al Jones accompanied by pedigrees, family group sheets, and family histories (most written by Al Jones). Material is filed alphabetically by correspondents' last names. The main focus is the Jones family of Blount's Creek, Beaufort County, North Carolina, and related family lines including, among others, Tuten, Cratch, Stilley, Roe/Row, Orrell, Galloway, Searles, Harding, and Purefoy, and Pridgen.

Papers (1939-1995, 2007) including McDaniel family and Harvey family genealogical research; and U.S. Air Force Flying Status Files and related files (1942-1980), recording Linton's military career. These files document his career including the U. S. Military Academy Class of 1942, his pilot training and World War II service in the 5th Air Force in the Pacific, and his postwar service in Germany with the 12th Air Force, and the 601st Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron and 526th Tactical Control Group. Also documented are his service in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, his continuing education courses, and his retirement.

Papers (1933-1973) of U. S. Marine Corps aviation officer (Major Gen.) who served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, and who retired as commander of the Cherry Point, NC Marine Air Station, including correspondence, reports, war diaries, citations, certificates, and military records.
