This collection contains items that document community college administrator Jerome Worsley's life as a student at East Carolina Teachers College (now ECU) in the mid-1940s and as a member of the U.S. Army (1951-1953). Included are photographs, clippings and a certificate related to Mr. Worsley's participation in the Chi Pi Players at East Carolina Teachers College; photographs, documents, passport, dog tag, patches, and insignia concerning his service as office manager in Paris, France, for SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) under the command of General Dwight D. Eisenhower. SHAPE is the military unit of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization).

John R. Wheless classroom notebooks while at College of Physicians and Surgeons in Baltimore from 1889-1890. Notebook subjects include surgery, anatomy, obstetrics, physiology, and gynecology.

Collection (1899-2004) of printed materials compiled for the centennial of the Orville & Wilbur Wright's first flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina; including an article written by the Wright brothers on their flight experiments with various airplanes coupled with printed copies of photographs and a printed reproduction of the article; also copies of Monthly Weather Review magazines from August-September 1899; and a copy of the North Carolina Literary Review dedicated to commemorating the centennial of the first flight complete with poetry and interviews; also two calendars illustrated with images of the Wright brothers flight experiments.

Papers of Eleanor Ross Taylor (1940-2008 [Bulk: 1989-2008], undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Falls Church, Virginia-born American poet, short story writer, and literary critic, consisting of edited manuscripts, proofs of published material & printed materials, including The Soul and Body of John Brown: A Poem, by Muriel Ruykeyser (1940); also including correspondence with Stuart Wright concerning her husband Peter Hillsman Taylor's papers; and loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection.

Frank H. Price, Jr., a graduate in the USNA Class of 1941, had a naval career including service in World War II through postwar work with developing conventional warheads for Navy guided missiles and commanding several ships and a Destroyer Division, culminating in promotion to vice admiral in 1972 and retirement in 1975. His papers cover his entire naval career and include correspondence, orders, a memoir, clippings, photographs, programs, publications and a photograph album.

Papers of Heather McHugh (1981) documenting the life and literary career the noted San Diego, California-born, Canadian-American poet, translator, educator, who became Writer-in-Residence, 1984-2011, and, since 2011, Pollock Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Washington, Seattle; consisting of the corrected galley proofs for her book of poems, entitled A World of Difference: Poems (1981); filed oversized.
