Transcript of the partial autobiography of Curtis Dula Hawkins (1914-1984) created from audiocassette recordings. Hawkins details his early life, the history of McDowell County, North Carolina, the history of the Hawkins and Dula families.

Collection includes a letter written by Ann Elizabeth Bogart, Washington, N.C., to "My dear Aunt," January 8, 1865, describing wartime conditions in Washington, N.C., and vicinity, a 2-page partial transcription of the letter, a tintype of a woman (possibly Ann Elizabeth Bogart), and two color images of the gravestone for Ann Bogart and the plot where she is buried in Washington, N.C. Also included are research materials concerning David Nevius Bogart of Washington, N.C., and related to the Bogart, Biggs, O'Cain, Lucas, Bonner, Peyton, and Snoad families of Beaufort County, N.C. Photographs, genealogy notes, Bible records, and correspondence relate to the Smallwood, Williams, and Hassell families of Williamston, N.C. Letters related to brothers Will and Bruce Smallwood discuss Will's travels and death (1918) in Alaska and Bruce's life and death (after 1894) in Mexico.

Papers (1820-[1917-1975]-1980) consisting of correspondence, newspapers, clippings, literary manuscripts, scrapbooks, pamphlets, movie based correspondence, and genealogical records related to the literary career of newspaper columnist Dorothy Repiton Knox of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Record (1902-1967) consisting of correspondence, tobacco records, financial and business papers, ledger, etc.

Papers of physician C.H. Brantley (1860 – 1942). The papers consist mainly of a medical school photograph with cadaver and prescription slips.

Papers (1788-1869, 1965) Hoyle J. Windley, of Bath, NC, a teacher, postmaster, and lieutenant in the NC militia, and his children, consisting of correspondence, store accounts, receipts, promissory notes, wills, summonses, bill of sale, special events-major fire, tournaments, coronation Ball, etc.

Includes Luther K. Edwards Sr.'s PhD diploma in pharmacy from Southern College of Pharmacy, Kenneth Edwards Jr.'s North Carolina Board of Pharmacy certificate, and Bachelor of Science diploma in pharmacy from the University of North Carolina.

The Ormond Family Papers (ca. 1770-1925) include correspondence, land grants, financial records, school notes taken at Trinity College, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, and photographs pertaining to the Ormond and Turnage families of Dobbs, Greene and Pitt Counties, North Carolina. Considerable material pertains to State Senator Yancey T. Ormond of Greene County.

Papers (1760 [1880] - 1935) including correspondence, financial papers, account books, daybooks, essays, speeches, legal records, land records, notebooks, etc. of Eastern North Carolina farmer, leader of the NC Tobacco Growers Association, and NC Secretary of State (1901-1923), etc.

Records of Lillabulero Press, Limited (1932-1983 [Bulk: 1966-1974], undated) documenting the history of Lillabulero Press, Limited, a small literary press, in Chapel Hill, NC and later in Northwood Narrows, NH, founded, edited and published by Russell Banks (1940-) and William Matthews (1942-1997); consisting of typescripts and correspondence, and proofs of submitted manuscripts and research materials, relating to Lillabulero Press, Limited, and its various publications, including Lillabulero Magazine, Issues Nos. 1 – 14 (1966-1984); Lillabulero Poetry Pamphlet Series, Nos. 6-17 (1969-1973); Lillabulero Prose Pamphlet Series No. 1 (1973); Lillabulero Portfolio / 1967; and oversized archival folders containing proofs of published materials (1967-1973).

Papers (ca. 1878-1980) including manuscripts, notes, ledgers, clippings, photographs, printed forms and published works, pertaining to the life of Bertie County, N.C., native Rev. Jesse W. Castelloe and his family.

This collection consists of photographs, slides, and negatives of images used in Greenville—Pitt County Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (North Carolina) publications in the 1970s through 1990s. Also included are some audiotapes.

Papers (1885-2009) of prominent Washington, NC, attorney Junius Daniel Grimes, who was member of the firm Ward and Grimes, and his family and business associates, including correspondence, legal records, land records, financial papers, publications, taxes, installments, bills, survey, map, etc.

This collection (2001-2008) has printed material, minutes, correspondence, ephemera and other documents donated by Dr. Keats Sparrow who participated as a member of the North Carolina First Flight Commission and its Education Committee during the 100th Anniversary celebration of the First Flight. The collection also contains a 2003 commemorative booklet "First Flight Visions celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Powered Flight," information from the International Commission's 2001 Flight Symposium about the Wright Brothers, photographs, clippings, and brochures. Other items are a travel mug, automobile license plate, pins, shoulder patches and commemorative items.
