Papers of David R. Slavitt (1967-2009 [Bulk: 1970-1994], undated) documenting the life and literary career of the prolific White Plains, New York-born American writer, poet, translator, and educator at several universities, who has authored more than 100 books; consisting of manuscript typescripts, loose manuscripts transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, and proofs of his works, including his novel Cold Comfort; also including several works under his pseudonym "Henry Sutton" notably a typescript of his poem The Cock Book: Or A Child's First Book of Pornography; and proofs of Vector: A Novel (1970).

Papers of Ellen D. Wilbur (1983-1992 [Bulk: 1984]) documenting the life and literary career of the American short story writer and editor, who is the daughter of American poet laureate, Richard Wilbur; including manuscript correspondence, typescripts, unbound proofs, bound proofs, and loose manuscripts transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, primarily concerning publication of her short story collection Wind and Birds and Human Voices,(1984) published by Stuart Wright.

Papers of [Edward Joseph] Ted Walker (1963-1983 [Bulk: 1963-1964]) documenting the life and literary career of the noted English-born poet, short story writer, travel writer, television and radio writer, and broadcaster, who later taught creative writing at New England College's campus in West Sussex, United Kingdom; consisting of his letters to John Smith regarding publication of his poems; holographs and corrected typescripts of his poems; and loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection related to Stuart Wright's purchase of Poems for Cordelia, by Ted Walker (1972).

Papers of Heather McHugh (1981) documenting the life and literary career the noted San Diego, California-born, Canadian-American poet, translator, educator, who became Writer-in-Residence, 1984-2011, and, since 2011, Pollock Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Washington, Seattle; consisting of the corrected galley proofs for her book of poems, entitled A World of Difference: Poems (1981); filed oversized.

Papers of Mel Ellis (1967) documenting the life and literary career of the Waukesha, Wisconsin-born American novelist who specialized in Wisconsin regional outdoor topics; consisting of an unrevised, uncorrected, spiral bound, proof of his novel Run, Rainey, Run: The Stormy Story of a Dog(1967); the manuscript had formerly been titled Strange Love Affair: The Stormy Story of a Dog.

Papers of Michael Mewshaw (1984) documenting the life and literary career of the Washington, DC-born American novelist, travel writer, literary critic, tennis reporter and creative writing educator at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and the University of Texas, Austin, where he directed the creative writing program; consisting of bound uncorrected proofs for Year of the Gun (1984), one of Mewshaw's best-known novels.

Papers of Jonathan Bumas (1986) documenting the life and career of the Forest Hills, New York-born American book illustrator and publisher of children's books, consisting of oversized original art works with captions for Phonethics: Twenty-Two Limericks for the Telephone (1986) by John Ciardi; drawings by Jonathan Bumas, published by Palaemon Press, Limited.

The largest portion (1911-1947) of this collection (1837-1993) contains correspondence, photographs, publications and ephemera related to the extensive charitable interests of Mary Estelle Crawford Fry, her husband James Woods Fry and son Gilbert Crawford Fry, all of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The charities include the Bethel Mission operating out of Hong Kong at the time of this correspondence (1938) due to war in China, the San Miao Orphanage in Saratsi (Suiyuan Province) of Northern China [later became part of Nei (Inner) Mongolia], the China International Famine Relief Commission, missions dealing with French and Belgian orphans of WWI, and the International Students' House conducted by the Christian Assoc. of the University of Pennsylvania. Earlier correspondence (1837-1869), unrelated to the above mentioned charities, is mainly written between Mrs. Mary M. Crawford of Boston, MA, Mrs. Addie A. Stien of Norristown, PA, and Sower family members in Boston and Norristown. Also included are family photographs and family history information related to the Chitty, Stroup (Strup, Strupe, Strub), and Ruede families of Forsyth Co., NC.

Papers (ca. 1890-2008, undated) of Vice Admiral Robert Lee Ghormley, a member of the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1906, including correspondence, orders, diaries, memoirs, photographic prints and negatives, certificates and commissions, legal papers, printed forms, ephemera, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, maps, museum objects, broadsides and posters and publications related to his education, family and personal life, in Tacoma, Washington, Moscow, Idaho, and Washington, D.C.; his naval career; his life in retirement, 1946-1958; and also including genealogical and historical essays compiled by his son, Commander Robert Lee Ghormley, Jr. (U.S. Navy ret.). Vice Admiral Ghormley served in China, Nicaragua, World War I, and in Haiti. Between the world wars he had several appointments and also served as commander of the destroyer USS Sands and the battleship USS Nevada. During World War II, he saw service as President Franklin D. Roosevelt's Special Naval Observer in Europe, August 1940-April 1942; as Commander, South Pacific Area and South Pacific Force, and the battle for Guadalcanal and the Solomon Islands, April-October 1942; as Commander of the Fourteenth Naval District and the Hawaiian Sea Frontier, 1943-1944; and as Commander of United States Naval Forces in Europe, 1944-1945.

Papers (1940–1945) of a U.S. Naval Reserve medical officer, including scrapbook of clippings, photographs, correspondence, photographs, original art, and memorabilia compiled while serving in the U.S. Naval Reserve at the Toledo, Ohio naval recruiting station, 1942–1943; And letters sent to his parents Dr. and Mrs. Carroll C. English, in Louisville, Kentucky, while serving aboard USS Trathen (DD-530), 4 April 1943–5 December 1944
