Papers of Allen Tate (1927-1996, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted American poet, biographer, editor, essayist, novelist and educator, including manuscripts, proofs of published materials, printed materials & ephemera, loose manuscripts transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, oversized materials, by or about Allen Tate, Ellen Glasgow, John Crowe Ransom, Peter Hillsman Taylor, Robert Penn Warren, Eudora Welty, and others; in English and Latin language.

Papers (1960-1984) of Democratic political leader and governor of North Carolina, including his 1976 campaign financial records and his 1980 gubernatorial general campaign files.

Papers of physician C.H. Brantley (1860 – 1942). The papers consist mainly of a medical school photograph with cadaver and prescription slips.

Collection consists of a diary (1944-1945) kept by Sgt. Douglas R. Woodworth, a radio operator serving with a B-24 bomber crew attached to the 1st Division of the 8th United States Army Air Force, while stationed in England during World War II.

Records (ca. 1976-2004) of the East Carolina Council (North Carolina) of Boy Scouts of America include minutes of the Executive Board, photographs, issues of the Tarheel Scouter newspaper, and files pertaining to awards given to scouts.

This collection consists of photographs, slides, and negatives of images used in Greenville—Pitt County Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (North Carolina) publications in the 1970s through 1990s. Also included are some audiotapes.

Also included are two typescripts of interviews done in 1938 with a mill worker at Glen Raven Cotton Mill in Burlington, N.C., and with a woman who ran a lodging house in Raleigh, N.C.; and an undated typescript titled "Description of Mill Village" about life on Factory Hill where many of the Asheville Cotton Mill workers lived. The interview with the woman in Raleigh also includes her experiences during the Civil War in Wake County, N.C. In addition, there is an errata of corrections to Van Camp's Images of America: Washington, North Carolina and a Bible containing family history information.
