This collection contains Ann Brandon Laliotes' and John Laliotes' memorabilia from their time as students at East Carolina as well as information about their later involvement with the university.

Papers (1864-1866) of soldier from Beaufort County who was killed in action near Petersburg, Va., during the Civil War while serving in the 33 Regiment of N.C. Troops, including correspondence, especially one notifying his mother of his death.

The Ormond Family Papers (ca. 1770-1925) include correspondence, land grants, financial records, school notes taken at Trinity College, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, and photographs pertaining to the Ormond and Turnage families of Dobbs, Greene and Pitt Counties, North Carolina. Considerable material pertains to State Senator Yancey T. Ormond of Greene County.

Papers (1909-1938) including diaries, notebook of reminiscences, an expense book and other financial records, photographs, post cards, a map, certificates, diplomas, bonds and miscellany.

Papers of Peter Hillsman Taylor (1908-1995, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted American short story writer, novelist, biographer, and playwright, who specialized in subjects related to the Upper South, including manuscript materials and correspondence, especially his World War II letters to his wife, Eleanor Ross Taylor; proofs of published materials; loose manuscripts from the Stuart Wright Book Collection; and oversized materials, by or about Peter Hillsman Taylor, Madison Smartt Bell, Robert Penn Warren, Eudora Welty, and others, in English and French language.

Papers of William Harrison (1969) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Dallas, Texas-born American novelist, short story writer, screenwriter, and educator who was founder and director of the Master of Fine Arts program at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, consisting of a proof of his novel In A Wild Sanctuary (1969).

Typescript of Marie Stahl's journal and write-ups from Josephine E. Newell and Josephine Trevvett Melchior interview with Mary Southall, daughter of Frank Stahl, on 30 January 1988.

Papers (1854-1865) including typescripts, correspondence, photocopies of army muster rolls, enlistment contract and discharge, letters comment on destruction of standing crops of Virginia, the demolition of Hampton, etc.

Yukon gold rush diary (1898 - 1899) (Photocopy [117 p.]) and typescript copy with introduction by Frank Moss [January 1998, 44 p.] and copies of photographic prints of Yukon gold rush [15 p.] Original diary withdrawn 5/9/2002, in possession of the donors.

Papers (1848-1970) including correspondence, account book, diary fragments, bylaws, genealogical notes, letters, and miscellany.

The largest portion (1911-1947) of this collection (1837-1993) contains correspondence, photographs, publications and ephemera related to the extensive charitable interests of Mary Estelle Crawford Fry, her husband James Woods Fry and son Gilbert Crawford Fry, all of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The charities include the Bethel Mission operating out of Hong Kong at the time of this correspondence (1938) due to war in China, the San Miao Orphanage in Saratsi (Suiyuan Province) of Northern China [later became part of Nei (Inner) Mongolia], the China International Famine Relief Commission, missions dealing with French and Belgian orphans of WWI, and the International Students' House conducted by the Christian Assoc. of the University of Pennsylvania. Earlier correspondence (1837-1869), unrelated to the above mentioned charities, is mainly written between Mrs. Mary M. Crawford of Boston, MA, Mrs. Addie A. Stien of Norristown, PA, and Sower family members in Boston and Norristown. Also included are family photographs and family history information related to the Chitty, Stroup (Strup, Strupe, Strub), and Ruede families of Forsyth Co., NC.
