This collection features oral history interviews conducted in 2011 with twelve members of the Latino community of eastern North Carolina who occupy positions ranging from recognized leadership to informal influence in the lives of Latino youth. Their occupational backgrounds are varied including professional, entrepreneurial, technical and working class trades. The interviewers were Dr. Ricardo Contreras and Dr. David Griffith of the Anthropology Department at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.

Material (1887, 1909-1969) related to the family of George E. and Nellie Maria Chambers Robinson of Montana, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Washington. Included are marriage and birth certificates, cemetery plot records, a divorce decree, photographs (also tintypes), a photograph album, and records and clippings concerning their son Harley G. Robinson who died in World War I.

Items from Jean Penn Walker Doss' education, professional, and personal life that were donated by her niece Susan Boyd.

Papers (1943-1945) including correspondence with references made to signaling, semaphore operations, mail delivery problems, etc.

Papers (1917-1919 1926) consisting of correspondence, memorandums, orders, manuals, World War I, list of field equipments.

Papers of Erskine Caldwell (1932-1982), documenting the life and literary career of the noted Coweta County, Georgia-born, American novelist of the rural poor in the American South; consisting primarily of his correspondence with Robert Cantwell; also Paul C. Richards, Autographs' description of the letters and Stuart Wright's correspondence with Paul C. Richards, Autographs relating to purchase of the letters.

The Watson and Boomer families of Beaufort and Hyde Counties, North Carolina, were connected through marriage. Included are original deeds from the early and mid-1800s; birth, death, and marriage dates and genealogy notes; baby book-type notes about the lives of 2 children (1885-1888) of William I. Watson (his mother was a Boomer) and wife "Ms. Charlie" Sidney Archbell Watson; World War I letters (1917-1918) written by William E. Watson to relatives in Aurora (Beaufort County), North Carolina, from Camp Sevier and Fort Jackson in South Carolina; and photographs (late 1800s-early 1900s).

Papers include military record and report of separation and registered nurse certificate from the North Carolina Board of Nurse Examiners.

Papers (1730-1928) of surveyor and Baptist pastor, including correspondence, court records, land records, financial papers, promissory notes, bills, land grants, indentures, Civil War orders, etc.

Papers (1935-1983) of members of USNA class of 1941, including copies of The Log, certificates, itineraries, pamphlets, a pass book, photographs, and other materials.

Included are a copy of the Daniels-Murphrey Family History compiled and edited by Eleanor Daniels Casey in 1993, a photograph of the USS Nebraska that Benjamin Daniels of Wayne County, North Carolina, sailed to Europe on in WWI, and three photographs of Benjamin Daniels in his WWI US Navy uniform.

Collection (1942-1945, 2006) of documents, maps, printed materials, etc., relating to his service as a Quartermaster 3d Class aboard the USS Ann Arundel (AP-76) during World War II, including autobiographical accounts of four voyages, and descriptions of its actions during the Normandy invasion of 6 June 1944.

Papers (1887-1933) including diaries, medical school notes, school register, ledger, daybooks, memo books, clippings, physician's birth record stub book, a funeral memorial record, a photograph and miscellany.

Papers include Joseph B. Philips record book, Walter E. Philips' memoirs, poems and other writings, and biographical information about several Philips men.
