Papers of Seaman First Class Robert Leo Croteau who served on the USS BENNINGTON during World War II in the Pacific Theatre include publications of and about the USS BENNINGTON (CV-20) and American propaganda leaflets with writing in Japanese.

Papers (ca. 1857-1962) of the Barnhill and Roebuck families of Robersonville, Martin County, N.C., including correspondence and scrapbooks related to school life at Davenport College in Lenoir, N.C., and St. Mary's School in Raleigh, N.C., and Fairfax Hall in Basic, Va., in the 1910s and 1920s, and college life (1929-1930) at East Carolina Teachers' College (now East Carolina University) in Greenville, N.C. Also included are financial records and land records (especially for the Roebuck family for the 1870s through the 1920s), photographs and ECTC annuals.

The Phoenix Historical Society: African American History of Edgecombe County was founded in 2001 to recover, record, and promote the unique history of Edgecombe County (North Carolina) as experienced by members of its African American community. This collection contains the society's official records, brochures, event programs, and publications related to research, community events and sponsored projects.

Still, Jr.'s career as a well-known and respected maritime historian and author. Papers (1767-1976) of three generations of Beaufort County, NC, lawyers named William B. Rodman, including correspondence, letterpress books, speeches, financial records, legal files, farm records, clippings, printed material, newspapers, photographs, genealogical material and miscellaneous. Originally from New York, the Rodmans married into the prominent Blount family in Beaufort County, NC. The Rodmans also held local and state government offices and were judges.

Papers of Tom Wolfe (1968-1982) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Richmond, Virginia-born American novelist, journalist, critic and essayist, associated with the New Journalism literary movement, consisting of proofs of three of his published works, including The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test (1968), Drawings by Tom Wolfe In Our Time, (1980), Tom Wolfe: The Purple Decades, A Reader (1982) & loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection.

Items included vary from photographs, broadsides, pamphlets, advertising materials, programs, negatives, and postcards to land grants, genealogy notes, and a music transcription book.
