This collection contains copies of ECU Magazine, which features information on East Carolina alumni and their accomplishments.

Map (1600) of North America, entitled Novi Orbis Pars Borealis, America Scilicet, Complectens Foridam, Baccalaon, Candam, Terram corte, by Matthias Quadt, engraved by Johannes Bussemacher, extends from the Caribbean to the Northwest Passage and from the Atlantic to the Pacific Oceans. It is excised from the original engraving published in Quadt's Geographisch Handbuch where the first Atlas was published in German. 9 x 11.5 x 0.125 inches. Matted. Hand colored.

Collection (1946-1984 bulk: 1981-1984) of slides of historic buildings, sites, documents, and persons, compiled by East Carolina University faculty members Donald R. Lennon and Fred Ragan for use in their joint North Carolina History course (History 3100). Rec'd. 12/31/1984.

The Nell Wise Wechter Papers contains copies of the author's books, Taffy of Torpedo Junction (1957), Betsy Dowdy's Ride (1960), Swamp Girl (1971), and The Mighty Midgetts of Chicamacomico (1974). Also included are the typed and written drafts, typed manuscripts with revisions, original manuscripts, and galley proofs for her books. There is also correspondence from the Library of Congress, British Embassy, and Mariners Museum regarding Wechter's requests for information to assist her in writing her novels.

Collection of photographic materials dating from 1944 to 1974 created by Dr. Samuel T. White, II, a Greenville, North Carolina optometrist. Materials include photographic prints, negatives, slides, indexes, and printed forms documenting personal, professional, and artistic photography. Subjects include portraits of family and acquaintances as well as landscape and community scenes primarily depicting Eastern North Carolina. An additional group of forty five black and white photographic prints is also included.

This collection contains annual reports and publications created by the BB&T Center for Leadership.

Personal Correspondence (December 30, 1861-September 16, 1862; April 1863) written by William Wilberforce Douglas to his family members during his service in the Fifth Rhode Island Volunteers and in General Ambrose Burnside's Expeditionary Corps in North Carolina. Letters, copied by his mother, Sarah Sawyer Douglas, from originals into a single bound journal, include references to his time at the battles of Roanoke Island, New Bern, and Fort Macon. Additionally, the journal includes newspaper clippings accounting his exploits in the war.

George Vernon Holloman was born in Rich Square, North Carolina on September 17, 1902. This collection deals with the last years of his career in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1945-1946. He was a colonel and very involved in developing advanced technologies related to automatic landing and flying systems in the Air Technical Service Command (ATSC) at Wright Field. While on duty with the 20th Air Force in Guam as deputy chief of staff, he died in a plane crash over Formosa. Included are clippings, photographs and a postcard.

U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation Collection: Arch F. Seabrook Papers consists of one photograph that features the officers of USS Liddle (APD-60) in the Leyte Gulf.
