The collection is comprised of papers written by William Jasper and collected over his career, focusing on dental health, along with class notes from the University of Pennsylvania and articles he wrote.

Lockey Family Collection (1891 - 2002, undated) relating to the Lockey Family, early settlers of the Pamlico River valley, including the Will of Joseph Lockey, 30 January 1746, copied from the NC Historical Commission, NC Wills, Vol. XVIII, p. 54-56 (Mss typescript); "In Memoriam of J. P. [John Peyton] Lockey (1805-1891) (Photocopy); Letter from Mrs. Donald A. Philbrick, 21 Oakhurst Road, Cape Elizabeth, ME, undated to "Dear Cousin Peyton" regarding Lockey family genealogy (Photocopy typescript); Letter from "Daddy," Tallahassee, FL, 7 September 1953, to "Dear Hope," regarding John Peyton Lockey (Photocopy typescript); and Letter from Jon Guy Diffenbaugh, Greenville, NC 3 May 2002, "To whom it may concern," transmitting the collection.

Contains Rocky Mount Sanitarium Nurses Alumnae minutes (1956-2013), constitution and bylaws, and Florence Nightingale pledge booklet.

This collection contains material (1735-2004) detailing the history of the A.C. Monk Tobacco Company and the Monk Family of Farmville, Pitt County, North Carolina, including financial records, correspondence, tax documents, audit reports, wills, estate records, stock certificates, deeds, receipts, ledger, press releases, portfolios, and blueprints, land records, clippings, publications and broadsides, and family histories and Farmville histories. Also included are photographs (daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, tintypes, cartes de visite, negatives, 35 mm prints, large framed images), and charcoal portraits, of Monk, Quinerly, Turnage, and May family members of Farmville, North Carolina.

Correspondence & Financial Records (ca. 1845 - 1917, undated) of merchants, shipbuilders and mercantile family from Elizabeth City and Weeksville, Pasquotank County, NC. Individuals include Woodson Bradford Fearing, Enoch Pratt Fearing, Lizzie Parker Fearing, George Fearing, Pratt Fearing, Woodruff Fearing, Emily Fearing, Emily Ramsay Commander, M. E. Fearing, Joseph Commander and Walter J. Rhode.

Papers (1916-1935) including a photocopy of an autobiography, bound book, of professional papers and articles and copy of a lecture.

Collection (1944-1945) including memoir, history of USS LSM-9, off loading of tanks, etc.

Items from Jean Penn Walker Doss' education, professional, and personal life that were donated by her niece Susan Boyd.

Papers (1705-1928) of Alamance County, North Carolina, native William L. Spoon (1862-1942) consisting of correspondence, a diary, pamphlets, almanacs, maps, photos, reports on weather, tax receipts, and land records. Spoon was a surveyor who was supervisor of public roads in Alamance County and worked as an agent of the U.S. Department of Agriculture as well as a teacher, inventor, and traveling salesman.

The Gerda Nischan Papers contains letters (1930, 1946-1947), handwritten in German between Otto Baumann and his wife, Barbara Hock, all but one written during the time Baumann was a German soldier in a French prisoner of war camp, 1946-1947, and typescripts in English by Baumann's daughter, Gerda Nischa, including an explanation of the letters, and 7 poems inspired by the letters. In 2010 Gerda Nischan wrote a book based on the letters titled Briefe an einen Kriegsgefangenen, an English translation written in 2014 (Letters to a Prisoner of War), and a novel in German (2013) called Dieses neue Leben which are included in these papers.

Collection includes a letter written by Ann Elizabeth Bogart, Washington, N.C., to "My dear Aunt," January 8, 1865, describing wartime conditions in Washington, N.C., and vicinity, a 2-page partial transcription of the letter, a tintype of a woman (possibly Ann Elizabeth Bogart), and two color images of the gravestone for Ann Bogart and the plot where she is buried in Washington, N.C. Also included are research materials concerning David Nevius Bogart of Washington, N.C., and related to the Bogart, Biggs, O'Cain, Lucas, Bonner, Peyton, and Snoad families of Beaufort County, N.C. Photographs, genealogy notes, Bible records, and correspondence relate to the Smallwood, Williams, and Hassell families of Williamston, N.C. Letters related to brothers Will and Bruce Smallwood discuss Will's travels and death (1918) in Alaska and Bruce's life and death (after 1894) in Mexico.

Papers (1843-1942; bulk 1843-1891) of Kinston, NC, attorney John Franklin Wooten and members of the Wooten, Harper and Moseley families of Lenoir Co., NC, and the Christian family of Virginia including correspondence, deeds, plats, financial records and miscellany.

Letter (1864) from commander of the 67th Regiment N.C. Infantry requesting a father to send his sons back to the regiment.
