Scrapbook, clippings, correspondence, photographs, reports, and other materials related to the World War II career of Lt. Commander Richard Hamilton Smith aboard the USS Teak and the USS Thomas J. Gray, and especially related to the successful evacuation during 7-9 September 1945 of British, Australian and American prisoners of war held by the Japanese at Kiirun, Formosa [Taiwan].

The Alice Morgan Person collection (1874-1943, 2004-2008) contains ledgers, testimonials, advertisements, correspondence, and news clippings related to the Mrs. Joe Person Remedy Company. The Remedy was developed by Alice M. Person (Mrs. Joe Person) of Franklinton, Charlotte, and Kittrell, North Carolina, and marketed by her and later her son Rufus M. Person. Other material pertains to the sale of her arrangements of popular songs, and to family life.

Letterbook (1861-1864) consisting of handwritten transcripts of letters.

Papers (1767-1976) of three generations of Beaufort County, NC, lawyers named William B. Rodman, including correspondence, letterpress books, speeches, financial records, legal files, farm records, clippings, printed material, newspapers, photographs, genealogical material and miscellaneous. Originally from New York, the Rodmans married into the prominent Blount family in Beaufort County, NC. The Rodmans also held local and state government offices and were judges.

Lockey Family Collection (1891 - 2002, undated) relating to the Lockey Family, early settlers of the Pamlico River valley, including the Will of Joseph Lockey, 30 January 1746, copied from the NC Historical Commission, NC Wills, Vol. XVIII, p. 54-56 (Mss typescript); "In Memoriam of J. P. [John Peyton] Lockey (1805-1891) (Photocopy); Letter from Mrs. Donald A. The Herman H. Duncan Collection consists of seven photographic prints (1921–1922, undated) depicting Greenville High School athletic teams and unidentified baseball teams in eastern North Carolina. Included are group portraits of the football, basketball, track and field, and baseball teams from Greenville High School, as well as images of unidentified teams, one possibly from New Bern, North Carolina. The photographs document early 20th-century high school athletics and local sports culture in Pitt County and surrounding areas.

This is a typescript memoir written by Dr. W. Joseph Stell describing when he was a student at East Carolina College from 1954 through 1958.

Contained in the collection are notebooks, pamphlets, photographs and negatives from Boice's time at the University of Pennsylvania and his career afterwards.

Papers, 1861-2011 (bulk 1940-1992), undated, of Senator Robert Burren Morgan, an ECU alumnus and lawyer, who served the state of North Carolina in a variety of elected and appointed positions. His first elected position was clerk of court in Harnett County. He was elected to the State Senate, served as president pro tempore of the Senate, and was twice elected Attorney General of North Carolina. He served in this position until 1974, when he won the United States Senate seat vacated by Senator Samuel James "Sam" Ervin, Jr. Morgan served as United States Senator from 1975 to 1981. He returned to his law practice following an unsuccessful reelection campaign and later served as Director of the State Bureau of Investigation from 1985 until 1992. Morgan served as a member of the ECU Board of Trustees for fifteen years, including nine terms as chair in the 1960s. He helped the institution achieve university status and was instrumental in establishing the ECU School of Medicine. The collection includes series relating to Morgan's family and personal matters, North Carolina Senate Files, Attorney General Files, United States Senate Files, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Files, and Oversized Materials Files. It includes manuscripts, photographs, audio and video materials, electronic records, printed materials, and ephemera.

This Record Group contains the records of the College of Health and Human Performance.

The collection includes papers and publications produced or related to the administration of John Decatur Messick. Materials include biographical records, correspondence, articles, newspaper clippings, administrative records, and other miscellaneous items.

This collection contains a photograph album (1944-1945) kept by Raymond Drew (of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) while he was a member of Marine Photographic Squadron 254 (VMD-254) during World War II. His squadron later became a part of Squadron 954 (VMD-954). This squadron was based in Greenville, North Carolina, and the album contains photographs of the Greenville base and of Pacific Theatre battle sites.
