Papers (1918-2005) relating to Greenville and Enfield, North Carolina boy scout leader including his World War I Diary recounting his service in the 14th Company, 4th Training Battalion, Depot Brigade and the 218th Ambulance Company in the American Expeditionary Force in France, 1918-1919, camp schedule, list of letters received and answered, addresses of French women, debts, English - French phrase, movements, places visited, and observations on daily military activities; memorials after his death; biographical sketches and clippings; letters and clippings describing him; and photographic prints of him in his World War I uniform. Diary compiled (8/19/1943 - 9/15/1945) while serving as a US Navy Electrician's Mate 2/c aboard the USS Essex (CV 9) during World War II, including diagrams of electrical equipment, descriptions of daily life at sea; defending against air and torpedo attacks; attacking the Japanese-held islands of Marcus, Wake, Rabaul, Tarawa, Marshalls (Roi, Kwajalein) Truk, Saipan, Bonin, Guam, Philippines (Mindanao, Luzon, Cebu), Okinawa, Formosa, Indo-China, Tokyo, Iwo Jima, and the Japanese main islands; the naval battles of the Marianas Islands, the Philippines Sea, the Philippines typhoon of 1944, and attacks by kamikazes.

This collection consists of papers relating to William Alva Greenleaf. Documents within this collection include, papers relating to William's service in the Civil War, correspondence, legal and estate records, financial records and genealogy records.

Deep Confessions, (1998) a personal memoir by Anne G. Lee, reflecting twentieth century family life in eastern North Carolina, ca. 1910-1998. (ca. 1998 Anne G. Lee)

This archive covers the early life and long United States Army career of Brigadier General George T. Bowman (b. 1869 and d. 1951). His career included service (stateside) during the Spanish-American War with the New York 65th Volunteer Infantry, with various New York volunteer and regular Army units in the Philippines (1899-1904), in Cuba (1906-1909), with Gen. John Pershing on the Mexican border (1915-1916), during World War I (1918-1919), and in Germany after World War I ended. Included are correspondence, orders and other military documents, photographs, newspaper and magazine articles, maps, narratives and commentary by Bowman, and a diary.

Collection (1947-1951, undated) of programs relating to various organizations at Greenville High School, Greenville, NC. Organizations include the glee club, Dramateers and the football team.

Papers (1908-1967, undated) pertaining to the military career and personal life of Lieutenant General Robert Frederick Sink (1905-1965), a graduate of West Point, a pioneer in the use of airborne warfare, who commanded the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army Airborne Corps, during World War II, 1942-1945, participating in the Allied Invasion of Normandy (1944) and the Battle of the Bulge at Bastogne, Belgium (1944-1945); and served as Chief of Staff of the RYUKUS command based on Okinawa, Japan (1949); as Assistant Commander of the 7th Infantry Division in Korea (1951); as a member of the Joint Airborne Troop Board at Fort Bragg, North Carolina (1954); and as commander of the Strategic Army Corps (STRAC) and the 18th Airborne (1958); he was promoted to lieutenant general, in 1959, and took command of the U.S. Army in the Caribbean, a post he held until he retired in 1961 due to poor health; he died in 1965; the collection consists of correspondence, clippings, manuscripts, photographs & printed materials.

This collection contains five photographs. These photographs show the J. R. and J. G. Moye Store on Evans St. in Greenville in the 1910s, the Amoco Dealers conventions in Washington, D.C.,and the most recent photograph comes from the late 1980s or early 1990s of the Pitt County, N.C., Sheriff's Department and includes coroner E. W. Harvey, Jr.

Papers (1942-1963) including correspondence, orders, service file, pamphlets, a poster, 2 sets of song sheets.

Collection (1917-1933, bulk 1918-1919) mainly consists of correspondence (29 May 1918-29 April 1919; 115 letters) between U.S. Army Pvt. Roscoe Jackson and his wife Lucile E. Jackson of Barnesville, Belmont Co., Ohio, and also with his father, mother-in-law, and grandfather during World War I. He writes from Camp Sherman in Chillicothe, Ohio, Camp Mills in Long Island, New York, and from France where he is serving with the 138th U.S. Infantry, A.E.F.

Papers of Rosanna Warren (1964-1989, [Bulk: 1981-1984], undated) documenting the life and literary career the Fairfield, Connecticut-born American poet and educator at Boston University, who was the daughter of writers and poets Robert Penn Warren (#1169-014) and Eleanor Clark (#1169-070); consisting of an uncorrected proof of Each Leaf Shines Separate: Poems (1984); also loose manuscript items transferred from her works in the Stuart Wright Book Collection, including from Each Leaf Shines Separate: Poems (1984), Joey Story: A Ten Year Old Girl's Story of Her Dog (1964), Snow Day (1981) and from New England Review, Vol. 4, no. 2 (1982).

Papers (1885-2009) of prominent Washington, NC, attorney Junius Daniel Grimes, who was member of the firm Ward and Grimes, and his family and business associates, including correspondence, legal records, land records, financial papers, publications, taxes, installments, bills, survey, map, etc.

This collection contains the personal and administrative records of Dr. Otto Henry, a former East Carolina University music professor. Many of the materials pertain to his time at East Carolina although there are also papers from his time as a student at Tulane University and teaching at Washington and Jefferson University.

Papers include Vauter's registration as an apprentice pharmacist, a magazine article about pharmacies of the past, and booklets about first aid, dosage amounts, and emergencies in jungle, desert, or arctic.
