Collection contains a World War II diary (1943-1944) kept by a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps while participating in bombing missions over Germany.

Greenville, North Carolina homes in 2001. The houses include the E. B. Ficklen home on West First Street, the J. S. and E. B. Ficklen homes on West 3rd Street, the old J. S. Ficklen home on Elizabeth Street (2), old Judson Blount home at the corner of Elizabeth and West 5th Streets (2) and an unidentified home at the corner of Ward and Elizabeth Streets. The collection is from 2001 and includes color 4" by 6" photographs.

Collection (1791-1896) consisting of photocopies of land deeds and tintypes pertaining to families in Carteret County, N.C.

Material (1898-1948) including legal correspondence and summons, tax receipts, accounts ledger, deeds, contracts and life insurance policies related to the real estate business of Gaston Watson (1865-1933) and his wife Fannie Morris Watson (1884-1965) of Wilson, North Carolina. Also included are photographs related to the family; WWII pay records and photographs related to son William Kirby Watson (1919-1993); and an 1854 copy of "Zion's Hymns" compiled for use in Original Free-Will Baptist Churches of North Carolina.

Virginia partis australis et Floridae.., (1671-1673) (Militaria Germanica Communia) 11-1/4 by 13-1/2 image size. 2-1/2 - 3 inch linen matting over acid free inner matting. 20-3/8 by 22-3/8 decorative wooden frame. Two "professional" repairs and one repair with tape: one in the land image and one in the ocean. Contains a watermark on the left side of a fools cap. Location: Vault.

Interview (1936-1966) with African-American home economics teacher and Home Demonstration Agent who worked with farm women and girls in Johnston County, NC, 1936-1966, concerning her career, family background. 2 cassettes and 1 computer diskette (3.5"). 3.0 hrs. Diary written by Edward L. Williams, while serving in the United States Marine Corps, describing his voyage, aboard the USS Alaska, to the European Station under the command of Captain Samuel "Powhatan" and under the direct supervision of Captain W. R. Brown, including their cruise along the Italian coast , frequent port calls, shipboard life, behavior of sailors, and his friendships and acquaintances among the ship's crew.

This collection contains a journal (November 21, 1894 – February 28, 1896) kept by Gilbert Smith Galbraith while he was serving as a U.S. Naval Cadet on board the USS Columbia. The USS Columbia was a Second Line Cruiser first commissioned on April 23, 1894, serving in the U.S. Navy until it was sold for scrap on January 23, 1922. Galbraith includes detailed technical descriptions of the ship and its components along with diagrams, blueprints, scale plans, maps, photographic prints, cyanotypes and various ephemera. Additionally, Galbraith records the ship's activities from November 21, 1894, to February 28, 1896.

Papers (1864-1866) of soldier from Beaufort County who was killed in action near Petersburg, Va., during the Civil War while serving in the 33 Regiment of N.C. Troops, including correspondence, especially one notifying his mother of his death.

Interview (1903-1998) with home economics teacher from Macon County, NC, who attended North Carolina College for Women (now University of North Carolina, Greensboro), 1920-1924, pertaining to her family background, education, her teaching career in Huntersville, Mecklenburg County, NC, and her career as a home demonstration agent in Greensboro, NC, 1941-1958, working with North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service and the Tennessee Valley Authority, marriage to J.
