This collection (1980s-2010s) contains material related to the life of Michael J. Hamer, an English professor at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, from 1986 through 2013, and a prolific songwriter, singer, and band leader who died in 2017. Included are notebooks containing his handwritten lyrics, poems, photographs, reel to reel tapes, clippings, and other material pertaining to his musical career.

Collection (1803-1996) pertaining to Martin County, NC, farmer John Conrad Getsinger, Sr., (Nov. 4, 1812-Jan. 16, 1891), a native of Wurttemburg, Germany, and several of his descendants consisting of correspondence, memoranda books, a sketchbook created by Mr. Getsinger while he was a soldier (1847-1848) fighting in the Mexican War, financial records, Civil War records pertaining to Mr. Getsinger and his son John C. Getsinger, Jr., religious publications, Primitive Baptist Church records (especially for Smithwick's Creek Primitive Baptist Church), pamphlets, broadsides, photographs, legal papers, newspaper clippings, and miscellany.

Papers (1963-2010) of East Carolina University History professor, 1969-2001, including correspondence; teaching notes and course syllabi for ECU History courses; drafts and manuscripts of papers, and publications; conference travel materials and professional association materials; lectures materials; University and History Department committees and activity files; materials concerning his education; and materials related to his participation in the Lutheran Church. Papers (1767-1976) of three generations of Beaufort County, NC, lawyers named William B. Rodman, including correspondence, letterpress books, speeches, financial records, legal files, farm records, clippings, printed material, newspapers, photographs, genealogical material and miscellaneous. Originally from New York, the Rodmans married into the prominent Blount family in Beaufort County, NC. The Rodmans also held local and state government offices and were judges.

This collection (c. 1880-2001) contains the papers of three generations of U.S. Navy officers whose service covered the years 1891 through 1963. Correspondence, orders, reports, photographs, certificates, publications, a diary, ships histories, clippings and reminiscences document their careers and that of Waldron McLellon's uncle who served in the U.S. Navy from 1934 through 1952. Waldron M. McLellon graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1941 and copious material relates to the lives of the USNA Class of 1941 members through 2001. Other papers concern the genealogy of Waldron McLellon's family.

Includes genealogical correspondence, documents, photographs, research notes, and obituaries compiled by the donor, Frances Holloway Wynne, relating to the Holloway, Sorrell, Cooper, Poole, and related families of Durham County, Johnston County, and Wake County, North Carolina; and Burned County, Virginia, ca. 1512-1995.
