Papers (1762-1902, undated) documenting the life of the Noble family from the Chicod Township of Pitt County and the Creeping Swamp and Swift Creek areas of Craven County. The bulk of the collection includes material related to the activities of Celina Clark Noble (1829-) and her family and includes land records, land description and surveys, promissory notes, mortgages and other legal papers, bank notes, ballads, financial papers, receipts, etc. Also included is the Civil War correspondence (1864-1865) of Corporal E. E. (Evans Everette) Noble (1829-1895) of the 67th Regiment North Carolina Infantry to his wife Susan J. Noble (1837-1873) while serving throughout Eastern North Carolina.

Collection (25 November – 21 December 1862) including holograph letters written by 1st Lt. Frank W. Adams, Company B, 51st Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, to his sister Elizabeth in Massachusetts, describing in great detail on the regiment's departure from the Boston Harbor aboard the Steamer Merrimac, voyage to North Carolina, their arrival in Newbern [New Bern], N.C. their encounter with the 43rd Massachusetts and their participation in the Battles of Kinston and Whitehall (present day White Hall), North Carolina as part of General John G. Foster's Goldsborough [Goldsboro] Expedition; also transcript of the holograph letters and one additional letter; also folios that formerly contained the letters and transcripts. Note: the letter dated 10-21 December 1862 also contains an envelope containing remnants of the ribbons once used to bind the letters; the folder that held the transcripts is stamped inside the font cover: "Robert W. Adams Oct. 1, 1947".

The Zion's Landmark Vol. 23, No. 7 and Vol. 32, No. 7 (10/15/1890 and 2/15/1899) periodical published semi-monthly by Zion's Landmark Print, Wilson, North Carolina (Primitive, or Old School Baptist) that was in the collection has since been transferred to the North Carolina Collection as of 2022.
