Papers 1937-1997 (Bulk 1974-1997) pertaining to Lee A. Wallace Jr.'s military service during World War II, including a scrapbook documenting Wallace's service in Battery "C", 2nd Battalion, 113th Field Artillery Regiment (formerly designated 117th Field Artillery); also referred to as 113th Field Artillery Battalion, 30th Infantry Division, North Carolina National Guard, based in Washington, N.C., including newspaper clippings, orders, photograph prints, and rosters; correspondence and newsletters pertaining to 30th Infantry Division reunions; a copy of the American Battle Monuments Commission's pamphlet entitled "30th Division: Summary of Operations in the World War" (1944); also oversized maps of the 30th Division's offensive operations during World War I, 1917-1918, removed from the pamphlet; in English, Dutch, & French language.

Collection (1898, 1908-2009) consists of research materials related to the history of Edenton and the Albemarle-Chowan region of North Carolina. Elizabeth Vann Moore (1912-2010) of Edenton spent her life researching local and family history topics. Her notebooks and correspondence reflect her involvement in writing Historic Edenton Guidebooks, the 300 year history of St. Paul's Parish in Edenton, a North Carolina Historical Review article on John Mare, and extensive information about the Edenton Tea Party, as well as work with the Edenton Historical Commission and the North Caroliniana Society. Also included are personal items such as her poetry, diplomas, plaques, and DVDs of interviews with Miss Moore done in 2007 by Martha Daniels.

Photograph album documenting the travels (1951) of the USS Seiverling through stops in Pearl Harbor, Midway, Japan, and probably Hong Kong, participation in the Taiwan Strait Patrol, and bombardments near Songjin, North Korea. Photographs depict not only the activities of the sailors, but also activities of the local people. Also included are photographs of other U.S. Navy ships, and small boats carrying surrendering North Koreans.

Letterbooks (1864-1866, 1868) including correspondence, letterbooks of handwritten copies of letters, one speech, one cash book, one invoice book, one monthly statement book, one order book, two poems.

Papers (1819-1872) of Thomas Sparrow (1819-1884), a Washington, N.C., lawyer until the outbreak of the Civil War. He was commissioned a captain in the Confederate Army in 1861 and served at Fort Hatteras until he was taken prisoner by Union forces in August of that year. After the war he returned to Washington and represented Beaufort County in the North Carolina General Assembly in 1870 and 1881. Papers include correspondence, military papers, prisoner of war diary kept at Fort Warren, Massachusetts, articles, essays, speeches, accounts, clippings, genealogical notes, and Sparrow family Bible records. Also included are letters (1858-1881) written by Thomas Sparrow's son George Attmore Sparrow (1845-1922) to him describing life in Okaw/Arcola, Illinois, at Hillsborough Military Academy, in military service as a Confederate soldier, and in his post-war life as a farmer and lawyer and later as a Presbyterian minister.

Papers (1866-1874, 1899-1964) including correspondence, diaries, daybooks, reports, certificates, photographs, manuals, clippings, an army register, notebooks, etc.

The Victor Lasky Collection consists of correspondence, newspaper and magazine clippings, and printed materials documenting mid twentieth century anti communism and related political discourse in the United States. The materials appear to have been compiled by Victor Lasky in connection with his editorial work on The American Legion Reader (1953), and reflect contemporary debates surrounding national security, foreign policy, and ideological conflict during the early Cold War period. The collection includes items transmitted to Miss France G. Knight, then Director of the Passport Office within the Bureau of Security and Consular Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. Together, these materials provide insight into the circulation of anti communist thought among journalists and government officials, as well as the broader cultural and political climate of the era.

Records (1973-2015) of the North American Society for Oceanic History (NASOH) including correspondence, membership lists, annual conference materials, book awards, bibliographies, newsletters, treasurer's records, programs, and publications.

Records (1944-1983), of naval officer, member of USNA class of 1941, who later worked with Lockheed Air and Missile Corporation including correspondence, notes, scientific and technical reports, articles, rosters, and miscellany.

Papers (1922-1953) of a Greenville, NC attorney consisting of correspondence, legal records, ledger, railroad company, legal services, brochure, political speech.

Collection (ca. 1987 – 2004) of maps, photographs, correspondence, genealogical research on the descendents of Shadrack Allen, Sr., newspaper clippings, photocopies, and other printed sources, including transcriptions of manuscript materials, concerning President George Washington's historic "Southern Tour" of 1791, focusing especially on those events occurring in Pitt County, North Carolina.

This collection (2001-2008) has printed material, minutes, correspondence, ephemera and other documents donated by Dr. Keats Sparrow who participated as a member of the North Carolina First Flight Commission and its Education Committee during the 100th Anniversary celebration of the First Flight. The collection also contains a 2003 commemorative booklet "First Flight Visions celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Powered Flight," information from the International Commission's 2001 Flight Symposium about the Wright Brothers, photographs, clippings, and brochures. Other items are a travel mug, automobile license plate, pins, shoulder patches and commemorative items.
