This collection includes materials related to George Sutton (b. November 1757 – d. 1827) of Durant's Neck, North Carolina, and his family. Included is a King James Version Family Bible printed in 1752, with written genealogical records of the Sutton family.

This collection contains the scholarly works of retired School of Music Professor Edward Jacobs, including sound and video recordings and manuscript music scores.

Papers of Michael Mewshaw (1984) documenting the life and literary career of the Washington, DC-born American novelist, travel writer, literary critic, tennis reporter and creative writing educator at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and the University of Texas, Austin, where he directed the creative writing program; consisting of bound uncorrected proofs for Year of the Gun (1984), one of Mewshaw's best-known novels.

Papers (1895-1935) of Greenville attorney, three-term mayor, and judge of the NC Superior Court, 1910-1920, consisting of correspondence, financial papers, legal papers, brief book, clippings, postcards, poems, negatives, standard diary, etc.

This collection contains trial sheets in different sizes and formats for M. C. Richards's 1947 publication of Poems by the press at Black Mountain College (in Black Mountain, North Carolina) while she was working there. Also included are copies of a collation attempt made by bookdealer Philip Howard of Serendipity Books and portions of his correspondence (1994) with James S. Jaffe regarding differences between the trial sheets and the printed edition of the Poems.

Memoir "Precious Memories. . .in My Life" by Wilson Crabtree (2006) about life experienced by the Crabtree and Oakley families in Rougemont, North Carolina, in Durham, Person, and Orange counties during the first half of the 20th Century. Family history and scanned photographs for the two families are given as well as documenting life in small diversified farms with tobacco as the cash crop. Accompanying the memoir is Mr. Crabtree's obituary.

Papers (1850-1868, undated) including estate papers, correspondence, accounts, receipt, financial papers, expenses of "genteel" education for young women, prices current in 1864, agricultural fertilizer.
