Papers (1952-1986 [Bulk: 1984-1986], undated) documenting the life and literary career of Eleanor Clark (1913-1996), the noted Los Angeles, California-born American travel writer and novelist, who was married to the iconic poet, historian, and literary critic, Robert Penn Warren (#1169-014), and who was mother of poet and scholar, Rosanna Phelps Warren (#1169-079) and of sculptor Gabriel Warren; consisting of manuscripts, proofs, oversized materials, and loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection and relating mainly to her travel book Tamrart: 13 Days in the Sahara (1984); her novel Camping Out (1986), her short story The Fortress and Raggedy Ann (1982); and her travel book Rome and a Villa (1952).

Papers (1961-2007) of the Halifax County Historical Association (N.C.) including correspondence of general nature concerned with group tours, bibliography sketch, financial records, membership rolls, itineraries etc. Various historical documents, photographs, ephemera and clippings relate to the history of Halifax County including Rosenwald schools and Brick School among many other topics (1816-2011). Other items (1972-2011) such as manuscripts, printed materials, digital materials, and a video recording concern the work of Maxville Burt Williams, a social studies teacher, principal, author and playwright and his works relating to the history of Halifax County, North Carolina, including First For Freedom a play about the Halifax Resolves of 1776; The Struggle, a play about Halifax County during the American Revolution; and The Schroonchers, a play about Eastern North Carolina in the summer of 1948.

Papers (1889, 1907-1958) consisting of correspondence, diaries, yearbooks, scrapbook, songbook, typescript, travel accounts, photographs, newsletters, etc., related to attendance at Salem Academy and College (1908-1911) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and to the work (1917 to 1950) of Protestant Episcopal music missionary Venetia Cox (of Greenville, North Carolina) in China. Also includes letters and school materials related to Lo-I (or Louis) Yin who attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, from 1949 to 1951 on a scholarship related to Venetia Cox's music missionary work with Huachung University, Wuchang, Hupeh, China.

R. Brown, including their cruise along the Italian coast , frequent port calls, shipboard life, behavior of sailors, and his friendships and acquaintances among the ship's crew.

This collection includes reminiscences by Peggy Rose Roberts Worthington (born December 29, 1931) of her life in Pitt County from childhood on a tobacco farm to the present that she wrote in 2012 and 2013 while participating in an East Carolina University Lifelong Learning Program creative writing course. Also found in this collection are photocopies of genealogical material and photographs pertaining to the Buck family of Pitt County, North Carolina, and the affiliated Jarrell family of North Carolina and South Carolina compiled by Lillie Mae Kite Buck.
