WVOT (Radio Station: Wilson, N.C.) Collection

The WVOT (Radio Station: Wilson, N.C.) Collection is a scrapbook (1947-1948) containing identified photographs and newspaper clippings documenting the organization and early development of a private radio station in Wilson, N.C. At the time, Wilson was well-known for its tobacco warehouses. The photographs depict the station's founders and special events involving the radio station as well as views of Wilson and its tobacco warehouses and business district.

Edwards Family Papers and Stantonsburg Drug Company

The collection has personal papers, photographs, awards, and letters from Luther K. Edwards Sr. and L. Kenneth Edwards Jr. The letters are primarily from Kenneth's Louisburg College days between 1933 and 1934. Additionally, the collection has advertisements, licenses, pharmacy regulations, and a day book from the Stantonsburg Drug Company, which was owned and operated by Luther and Kenneth Edwards.

George T. Bowman Papers

This archive covers the early life and long United States Army career of Brigadier General George T. Bowman (b. 1869 and d. 1951). His career included service (stateside) during the Spanish-American War with the New York 65th Volunteer Infantry, with various New York volunteer and regular Army units in the Philippines (1899-1904), in Cuba (1906-1909), with Gen. John Pershing on the Mexican border (1915-1916), during World War I (1918-1919), and in Germany after World War I ended. Included are correspondence, orders and other military documents, photographs, newspaper and magazine articles, maps, narratives and commentary by Bowman, and a diary.

Gilbert Smith Galbraith Notebook

This collection contains a journal (November 21, 1894 – February 28, 1896) kept by Gilbert Smith Galbraith while he was serving as a U.S. Naval Cadet on board the USS Columbia. The USS Columbia was a Second Line Cruiser first commissioned on April 23, 1894, serving in the U.S. Navy until it was sold for scrap on January 23, 1922. Galbraith includes detailed technical descriptions of the ship and its components along with diagrams, blueprints, scale plans, maps, photographic prints, cyanotypes and various ephemera. Additionally, Galbraith records the ship's activities from November 21, 1894, to February 28, 1896.

The U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation Collection: Lee D. Teal Papers contains materials documenting service aboard two U.S. Navy escort carriers during World War II: the USS Kitkun Bay (CVE-71) and the USS Hollandia (CVE-97). Items include a narrative history of the Kitkun Bay with an accompanying photograph of Lee D. Teal (1943–1945) and a program from a Divine Worship Service held aboard the Hollandia in 1944.
