This collection contains a single photograph album that highlights the Sandhills region in North Carolina from 1914 to 1921.

This collection contains materials related to LeRoy Hale's service during WWII in the 314th Infantry in the 79th Division. The collection includes photographs, correspondence letters to his wife, Emma, memorabilia, separation papers, newspapers and clippings, postcards, and handbooks. A small portion of this collection contains information about Lorraine Hale Robinson and her work during her employment at East Carolina University.

Papers of Donald Davie (1938-2016 [Bulk: 1938-2010], undated), the English-born writer, editor, poet, and educator, relating primarily to Davie's life and literary career, including correspondence, typescripts, holographs, miscellaneous materials and loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, proofs of published works, audio-visual materials, printed materials, and oversized materials, including works by Reginald Gibbons, Robert Shapard, James Thomas, and others.

Records (1944-2008) of the North Carolina Council For The Social Studies include a constitution, organization history, committee reports, minutes, agenda, newsletters, rosters, memos, programs, clippings, and miscellany.

Papers (1963) documenting the life and literary career of prolific New York City-born American poet, anti-war and environmental activist, W. S. [William Stanley] Merwin (b. 1927), consisting of a loose manuscript item transferred from a book in the Stuart Wright Book Collection entitled Seven Princeton Poets: Louis Coxe, George Garrett, Theodore Holmes, Galway Kinnell, William Meredith, W. S. Merwin, and Bink Noll which was a special edition of the Princeton University Library Quarterly (1963) edited by Sherman Hawkins.

The Alice Morgan Person collection (1874-1943, 2004-2008) contains ledgers, testimonials, advertisements, correspondence, and news clippings related to the Mrs. Joe Person Remedy Company. The Remedy was developed by Alice M. Person (Mrs. Joe Person) of Franklinton, Charlotte, and Kittrell, North Carolina, and marketed by her and later her son Rufus M. Person. Other material pertains to the sale of her arrangements of popular songs, and to family life.

Papers of Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin (1977) documenting the life and literary career of the Cork City-born Irish poet and Trinity College, Dublin educator; consisting of the corrected printer's first proof of her poem entitled The Second Voyage: Poems (1977). Note: Her name is pronounced Eileen Nee Ch-will annoy-n (where the Ch is pronounced like the ch in loch; transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, 12/1/2014.

This collection contains birth, death, and marriage records from three related family Bibles for the Crocker, Haynes, Horton, Riggan, Jordan families. The date span covered is 1848 through 2005. Most of the people in these records were from the Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina area. The Jordan family was from Hamlet, North Carolina. A recent generation, the Markowski family, lived in Greenville, North Carolina.

This collection consists of the records of the Long Leaf Opera Company which was founded in 1998 in Durham, N.C., by artistic director and playwright Dr. Wallace Randolph Umberger, Jr., and musical director and composer Mr. Benjamin Franklin Keaton and disbanded in 2012 due to the death of Dr. Umberger. Included are librettos and musical scores, scrapbooks, CDs, DVDs of performances, programs, photographs, promotional material, financial records, correspondence and clippings. A large portion (ca. 1950s-1997) of this collection also documents the pre-Long Leaf Opera Company careers of Umberger and Keaton. Included are manuscripts for plays, novels, musical comedies, and poetry written by Umberger, musical scores for an opera and muscial comedies written by Keaton, programs for productions they participated in, publications, photographs, and correspondence (some is from Paul Green).

Collection (1799-1897, 1913) including correspondence, 1835-1897, 1913, and financial records, 1799-1894, of New Bern, NC merchant, whose store was used by Union troops, and who was appointed "Superintendent of Poor Whites" for Craven County, NC.

Speeches, correspondence, and publications include East Carolina gaining University status, the foundation of a medical school, the transition of athletics into Division I, and the growth of the campus.

This collection (1821-2007) contains several groups of family history-related papers concerning eastern North Carolina and a large number of unrelated miscellaneous items such as photographs, church records, Bible records, and rare printed items on a variety of subjects. The majority of the family papers concern the Croom and Whitfield families of Lenoir County, N.C. Other family papers concern the Harvey family of Greene County, N.C., the Jordan and Waters families of Washington, N.C., the Meeks family of Pitt County, the Outlaw family of Lenoir County and the Thompson family of Georgia. A large part of this collection concerns the Ficklen family of Greenville, N.C., including scrapbooks, diaries, an autograph book and a post card collection. Some items concern the colorful poet, magazine editor, railroad speculator, paper mill owner, Civil War blockade-runner, and sea captain Appleton Oaksmith who lived in Carteret County, N.C., for fifteen years (1872-1887). Also included are ambrotype photographs of Confederate Civil War soldiers James Needham Alexander, who served in Company A, 11th North Carolina Troops (Infantry) and Stanhope Washington Alexander, who served in Company H, 35th North Carolina Regiment.

This collection contains press releases, correspondence, recruitment literature, flight shields, photographs of awards and plaques, and some photographs detailing the history of the United States Air Force ROTC Program.

Genealogical histories, notes, correspondence, etc, for a variety of families, many of which pertain to Pitt County, North Carolina.
