Slavitt (1967-2009 [Bulk: 1970-1994], undated) documenting the life and literary career of the prolific White Plains, New York-born American writer, poet, translator, and educator at several universities, who has authored more than 100 books; consisting of manuscript typescripts, loose manuscripts transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, and proofs of his works, including his novel Cold Comfort; also including several works under his pseudonym "Henry Sutton" notably a typescript of his poem The Cock Book: Or A Child's First Book of Pornography; and proofs of Vector: A Novel (1970).

Papers of Heather McHugh (1981) documenting the life and literary career the noted San Diego, California-born, Canadian-American poet, translator, educator, who became Writer-in-Residence, 1984-2011, and, since 2011, Pollock Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Washington, Seattle; consisting of the corrected galley proofs for her book of poems, entitled A World of Difference: Poems (1981); filed oversized.

Papers of Mel Ellis (1967) documenting the life and literary career of the Waukesha, Wisconsin-born American novelist who specialized in Wisconsin regional outdoor topics; consisting of an unrevised, uncorrected, spiral bound, proof of his novel Run, Rainey, Run: The Stormy Story of a Dog(1967); the manuscript had formerly been titled Strange Love Affair: The Stormy Story of a Dog.

Papers of Michael Mewshaw (1984) documenting the life and literary career of the Washington, DC-born American novelist, travel writer, literary critic, tennis reporter and creative writing educator at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and the University of Texas, Austin, where he directed the creative writing program; consisting of bound uncorrected proofs for Year of the Gun (1984), one of Mewshaw's best-known novels.

S. Merwin, and Louis Untermeyer, manuscript typescripts, audio recordings, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, printed materials, proofs of published materials, and oversized printed and photographic materials.

Wilbur Wright was born on April 16, 1867 near Millville, Indiana and his brother Orville was born in 1871. The boys owned a bicycle shop before using their experience, tools, and equipment to experiment with flight. The collection is circa 1920 and includes a pamphlet titled Essais de Wilbur Wright, Le Mans - 1908: La Conquete de l'Air / Wilbur Wright's Trial: The Conquest of the Air. The strength of this collection is the introduction and postcards detailing Wilbur Wright and his 1908 experimental and demonstration flights in Le Mans, France.

This collection (1884, 1908-2005) includes the papers of Helen Keel Peel (who died in 2005 at the age of 88) and her husband James Woolard Peel (who died in 1986), of Everetts in Martin County, North Carolina. Included in the collection are a diary (1934-1937); photographs; typescripts related to Helen Peel's historical research about Everetts and Martin County; correspondence, scrapbook, and autograph books related to her public school years and her 1933-1934 time at Louisburg College; scrapbooks covering the time span of ca. 1956-1994; and Bible (1836) records, especially births, for the years 1808-1851 for members of the Peel, Woolard, Ward, Martin and Barnhill families of Martin County. Also included are report cards, transcripts, and correspondence related to James Peel's public schooling and time (1931-1935) at N.C. State University; U.S. Army service-related materials for his time in the Reserves (1936) and World War II (1942-1945); memorabilia related to his membership in the Order of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite; Martin County deeds and plats (1884-1972); account books (1908-1944); and remodeling plans (2000-2005) by Dr. Jesse R. Peel for his parents' house. deeds for various tracts of land in Everetts and elsewhere in Martin County, N.C., and papers (plat maps, correspondence, financial papers) that document involvement with Timberlands Unlimited, Inc., of Windsor, N.C.
