The clipping file provides subject access to the North Carolina Collection's clipping file of selected newspaper articles taken primarily from the Greenville Daily Reflector and Raleigh News and Observer.

This collection consists of original photographs, photographic prints (copies), negatives and proof sheets (ca. 1890-1900, 1950s -1970s) documenting history in and around the area of Murfreesboro, North Carolina. These consist primarily of images of businesses, buildings, boats and ferries, mills, cemeteries and gravestones, architectural features of interest, churches, schools, people and historical houses.

Papers (1806-1950) consisting of correspondence, letters, receipts, photographs, genealogical information, financial papers, etc.

Collection (1871-1970, undated) including correspondence, photographs, postcards, and printed material relating to the Stancill Family.

The collection includes papers and publications produced or related to the administration of John Decatur Messick. Materials include biographical records, correspondence, articles, newspaper clippings, administrative records, and other miscellaneous items.

The Henry Ferrell Papers include professional and personal correspondence, committee and departmental reports, materials related to his scholarly works and research, including the book "No Time for Ivy," and materials related to his participation in professional and civic organizations.

Photocopies of papers (1862-1899, 1931-1938) consisting of correspondence written by Nathan R. Frazier of Guilford County, North Carolina, while a member of Company B, the 45th Regiment North Carolina State Troops during the Civil War, post-war correspondence, court records, receipts, and a census of white children between the ages of six and twenty-one years old in District No. 3 in Deep River Township, Guilford County, N.C.

Papers (1836-1977) including genealogical materials, clippings, census materials, clippings, speeches, travel diary and correspondence, etc.

Papers (1764-1910) including correspondence, land records, account sales, a photograph, agricultural reports, receipts and miscellaneous.

Papers (1960-1984) of Democratic political leader and governor of North Carolina, including his 1976 campaign financial records and his 1980 gubernatorial general campaign files.

Collection (1760-1906, undated) including grant, deeds, wills, estates papers, plats, financial papers, letters, genealogical information, etc.

Papers (1864-1958 undated) of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, lawyer, judge, legislator, and gubernatorial candidate Richard Tillman Fountain consisting of correspondence, report, clippings, newspapers, law practice documents, letters, pamphlets, photographs, clippings, scrapbooks, and reports.

This collection contains about 363 cubic feet of material documenting the Congressional career of Lunsford Richardson Preyer. Mr. Preyer (January 11, 1919-April 3, 2001) of Greensboro, North Carolina, served in the U.S. House of Representatives for twelve years (January 1969-January 1981).

Papers (1887-1933) including diaries, medical school notes, school register, ledger, daybooks, memo books, clippings, physician's birth record stub book, a funeral memorial record, a photograph and miscellany.

Collection (1768, 1799, 1825-1865, 1887-1931, 1985) assembled by prominent Democratic politician, newspaper editor and historian Henry T. King (1861-1924) of Greenville, N.C. Included are the papers of Edward C. Yellowley (1821-1885), a Greenville, N.C., lawyer with particular emphasis on correspondence while he was serving as a Confederate officer in the Civil War; King's Weekly Newspapers (1895-1902); King's Sketches of Pitt County; and correspondence, speeches, verse, legal documents, clippings, broadsides, pamphlets, receipts, poetry, accounts, maps, and miscellany.
