Records Palaemon Press, Limited (1943-1992, [Bulk: 1977-1987], undated) documenting the history and publications of the small, Winston-Salem, North Carolina literary press, that produced small, beautiful, numbered editions of brochures, broadsides, chapbooks, & pamphlets, mainly by southern authors, owned and operated by Stuart T. Wright; consisting of correspondence with authors, printers, reviewers, and publishers; manuscript materials, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, printed materials, proofs, and oversized materials.

Papers of John Ciardi (1820-1991 [Bulk: 1947-1991], undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Boston, Massachusetts-born American poet, translator, etymologist, and editor, consisting of correspondence, manuscript materials, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, proofs of published works, audio recordings, and printed materials, by or about John Ciardi, Elio Vittorini, Harry Crews, George Braziller, and others; in English, Italian & Latin language.

The collection includes correspondence and some photographic material documenting the service of Richard Lewis Kinney (1927-2015) of Lexington, North Carolina in the United States Army in occupied Japan at the end of World War II. The collection provides a glimpse of an American soldier's point of view and experience serving overseas during the post-war occupation of Japan.

Collection includes a detailed appraisal (November 5, 1946) of the Greenville Tobacco Company, Inc., in Greenville, North Carolina, by General Valuations Company, Inc., Appraisers and Engineers of New York.

Papers (1919-1968) items, including correspondence, speeches, reports, clippings, resignation as superintendent of the New Jersey Home for Girls, letters of governors, writings, invitation to be a delegate to the White House Conference on Child Health and Protection, etc.

A collection (ca. 1885-1918, undated) of 55 cartes de visite and cabinet cards mounted on cardboard, a scrapbook containing 11 snapshots, a manuscript, and printed materials belonging to John Miller Faison, a North Carolina physician, Democratic Party leader, and Congressman from the N.C. Third District between 1911 and 1915.

Papers of William [Morris] Meredith, Jr. (1964-1983) documenting the life and literary career of the noted New York City-born American poet and educator at various universities including Connecticut College; consisting of materials mainly pertaining to The Cheer, by William Meredith (1980); including notes, manuscript typescripts, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection and oversized proofs.

Papers of Mary Eloise von Schrader Jarrell (1965-2012, undated) documenting the life and literary career the St. Louis, Missouri-born, memoirist and patron of the arts, who was the widow and literary executor of poet and educator Randall Jarrell (1914-1965) consisting of correspondence with Stuart Wright, typescripts, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, printed materials, and oversized materials relating primarily to her life with Randall Jarrell and the promotion of his works and literary influence on American poetry.

This Record Group primarily contains records of East Carolina faculty members' time of employment at the school, including their participation in campus activities and committees as well as their teaching and their scholarship. For some faculty members, personal items may also be included.

Papers of Allen Wier (1978-1983 [Bulk: 1978]) documenting the life and career of the noted San Antonio, Texas-born American writer and creative writing educator at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, who was formerly married to the poet, Dara Wier [#1169.089], consisting of loose manuscript items relating to Wier, transferred from Stuart Wright Book Collection volumes, entitled Blanco & Things About to Disappear: A Novel and a Collection of Stories, by Allen Wier (1978); Blanco, by Allen Wier (1978); and Departing as Air, by Allen Wier (1983); including letters to Stuart Wright and Fred Chappell; also an inventory control card for Departing as Air (1983).

Papers of Alyson Carol Hagy (1985-1988) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Virginia-born American short story writer, novelist and creative writing educator at the University of Wyoming, Laramie; consisting of her correspondence with Stuart Wright, typescripts, galleys, page proofs, uncorrected, and corrected proofs, camera copies, and original cover art for her collection of short stories entitled, Madonna on Her Back Stories, published by Stuart Wright (1986); also loose items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection.

Papers (1777-2022) relating to John Baxton Flowers III academic career, family history and Scottish genealogy (Flowers, Kennedy, and Thompson families of Wayne County, NC), historic preservation, horticulture and garden history.
