Collection consists of publications, newsletters, and annual reports outlining the operations of the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina Univeristy.

In this oral history interview, Charles E. Davis discusses his time as a student at East Carolina, particularly his involvement in civil rights activism on campus, as well as his civil rights activism in the larger eastern North Carolina community.

Interview with Roy H. Lake (1923-2018), a member of the U.S. Navy B-1 Band, the first all-African American Band in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Verso of the audiotape includes the U.S. Navy B-1 Band Reunion Memorial Service at the Baptrist Student Union of East Carolina University on 10/19/2003. Received 11/10/2003.

This collection contains the records (1873-2010) of the fraternal secret society Knights of Pythias Grand Lodge, Domain of North Carolina. Records include biennial and annual reports of local lodges, the Records of Proceedings for the annual sessions of the Grand Lodge, financial records, minute book, constitutions and bylaws, publications and items such as the 1909 Pythian Service Book.

Collection (1862-1994) containing correspondence, service records, photographic prints, newspapers, newsletters and clippings, scrapbook, publications, pamphlets and other miscellaneous papers relating to the American Civil War, the Spanish American War, World War I and World War II; also relating to the U.S. Navy, its ships, stations, and personnel; donated by various individuals to the U. S. Naval Memorial Foundation and transferred to its collection at various times; arranged in original order.

Papers (1783-1946) of Halifax County, NC physician, including correspondence, plantation, relationship to patients, medication, charge, estate payments and general account ledger personal ledger (1849-1855), letter press books (1883-1912), writing ledger (1830, 1873-1876), receipt book, farm ledgers (1877-1946), and miscellaneous materials. Collection (ca. 1899-2011, undated) documenting the history of Pepsi-Cola in New Bern, N.C.; the involvement of the Minges family in the soft drink business, 1923-1992, in Greenville, Tarboro, and Rocky Mount, N.C.; and the Minges Bottling Group, Inc., of Ayden, N.C. Materials include clippings, correspondence, contracts and financial records, advertising materials, photographic prints and compact discs, printing plates, printed materials, trademark registration certificates, video recordings, ephemera,etc. Digital files document the history of the Minges family of Catawba and Pitt Counties, North Carolina, and the history of the Minges Bottling Group.

Karl Edwards Hardee and his wife Clara Jane Cherry Hardee, both Pitt County natives and parents of the donor of this collection Karl Wayne Hardee, were very involved with the Red Banks Home Demonstration Club and the Eastern Pines Men's Fellowship Club. This collection consists of three large scrapbooks documenting the activities of the Red Banks Demonstration Club and the Eastern Pines Men's Fellowship Club in Pitt County, North Carolina, for 1956, 1957, and 1958. Annual reports, clippings, event programs and photographs of members, social gatherings and properties that were cleaned-up document the contributions of these groups to the Pitt County Progress Program.

Included is a logbook/scrapbook kept by Henry A. Phelon (1831-1902) who served as an acting Master in the Union Navy (1862-1865) during the Civil War. Orders, holograph letters, dispatches, handwritten copies of documents, and newspaper clippings glued into this scrapbook chronicle his wartime service under Rear Admiral Samuel P. Lee with the Blockading Squadron off the coasts of Virginia and North Carolina on the U.S. Steamers Shawsheen, Monticello, and Daylight, and U.S. Ironclad Steamers Canonicus and Atlanta. Later clippings (through 1900) and documents pertain to his post-war years, most of which was spent in West Springfield, Massachusetts.

This collection contains the Secret World War II Historical Narrative of District Operations Office and Inshore Patrol, Fifth Naval District, Norfolk, Virginia (August 31, 1945) Approved by R. S. [Russell Sydnor] Crenshaw, Captain, U.S.N. Assistant Commandant of the Fifth Naval District and commander of the Inshore Patrol during most of World War II.

This collection contains the congressional files for U.S. House of Representatives member Walter B. Jones, Jr., who represented the 3rd Congressional District of North Carolina from 1995 until his death in 2019. Included are files, scrapbooks, media, and electronic files. The electronic files were created by his staff and included speeches, correspondence, articles, promotional material, notes and videos for the years 2005-2018.

The Alice Morgan Person collection (1874-1943, 2004-2008) contains ledgers, testimonials, advertisements, correspondence, and news clippings related to the Mrs. Joe Person Remedy Company. The Remedy was developed by Alice M. Person (Mrs. Joe Person) of Franklinton, Charlotte, and Kittrell, North Carolina, and marketed by her and later her son Rufus M. Person. Other material pertains to the sale of her arrangements of popular songs, and to family life.
