Papers (1941-1945) related to Shipfitter First Class Mariano Albert Bellitteri's service on board the USS Miami including radio press releases, newsletter, yearbook, photographs, discharge papers, "plank ownership" certificate, and a brass ashtray from the USS Miami.

Karl Edwards Hardee and his wife Clara Jane Cherry Hardee, both Pitt County natives and parents of the donor of this collection Karl Wayne Hardee, were very involved with the Red Banks Home Demonstration Club and the Eastern Pines Men's Fellowship Club. This collection consists of three large scrapbooks documenting the activities of the Red Banks Demonstration Club and the Eastern Pines Men's Fellowship Club in Pitt County, North Carolina, for 1956, 1957, and 1958. Annual reports, clippings, event programs and photographs of members, social gatherings and properties that were cleaned-up document the contributions of these groups to the Pitt County Progress Program.

Records 1956-1968) of Greenville, NC garden club, including 3 volumes of scrapbook materials (loose-leaf), 1956-68; 1 volume of yearbook materials (loose-leaf), including constitution, officers, calendar of events, membership, committee, projects, 1962-68; 1 volume of text (mss typescript) and color photographs entitled "Ward 3) Description of Beautification Project," [1960-65]; and 1 volume of records (loose-leaf), including membership, minutes of meetings (1956-68), executive board membership and executive board minutes of meetings (1956-66).

This collection contains the records (1873-2010) of the fraternal secret society Knights of Pythias Grand Lodge, Domain of North Carolina. Records include biennial and annual reports of local lodges, the Records of Proceedings for the annual sessions of the Grand Lodge, financial records, minute book, constitutions and bylaws, publications and items such as the 1909 Pythian Service Book.

This collection contains eight 8" by 6" photographs (ca. 1910) mounted on cardboard taken by an unknown photographer of identified buildings, street scenes and the Confederate Monument in Windsor, N.C. The photographs were probably taken for Grady T. Davis, Sr.

Papers (1889, 1907-1958) consisting of correspondence, diaries, yearbooks, scrapbook, songbook, typescript, travel accounts, photographs, newsletters, etc., related to attendance at Salem Academy and College (1908-1911) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and to the work (1917 to 1950) of Protestant Episcopal music missionary Venetia Cox (of Greenville, North Carolina) in China. Also includes letters and school materials related to Lo-I (or Louis) Yin who attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, from 1949 to 1951 on a scholarship related to Venetia Cox's music missionary work with Huachung University, Wuchang, Hupeh, China.

Papers (1819-1872) of Thomas Sparrow (1819-1884), a Washington, N.C., lawyer until the outbreak of the Civil War. He was commissioned a captain in the Confederate Army in 1861 and served at Fort Hatteras until he was taken prisoner by Union forces in August of that year. After the war he returned to Washington and represented Beaufort County in the North Carolina General Assembly in 1870 and 1881. Papers include correspondence, military papers, prisoner of war diary kept at Fort Warren, Massachusetts, articles, essays, speeches, accounts, clippings, genealogical notes, and Sparrow family Bible records. Also included are letters (1858-1881) written by Thomas Sparrow's son George Attmore Sparrow (1845-1922) to him describing life in Okaw/Arcola, Illinois, at Hillsborough Military Academy, in military service as a Confederate soldier, and in his post-war life as a farmer and lawyer and later as a Presbyterian minister.
