Collection (1917-1933, bulk 1918-1919) mainly consists of correspondence (29 May 1918-29 April 1919; 115 letters) between U.S. Army Pvt. Roscoe Jackson and his wife Lucile E. Jackson of Barnesville, Belmont Co., Ohio, and also with his father, mother-in-law, and grandfather during World War I. He writes from Camp Sherman in Chillicothe, Ohio, Camp Mills in Long Island, New York, and from France where he is serving with the 138th U.S. Infantry, A.E.F.
Collection (1766-2010) consists of items related to the Augustus Moore (June 8, 1803-March 23, 1851) family of Chowan and Halifax Cos., N.C., his children Augustus Minton Moore, William Armistead Moore, Henrietta Moore Sutton, Susan Augustus Moore Righton, Mary Elizabeth Moore, Alfred Moore and John Armistead Moore, and the descendants of John Armistead Moore. Included are account books, legal records, land transactions, estate records, correspondence, clippings, and autograph books (1855, 1865) belonging to family members who attended Miss Willard's Female Seminary in Troy, N.Y., and Patapsco Female Institute in Ellicott City, Maryland. Also included are identified photographs (cartes de visite, tintypes, cased pictures, albums) of the Moore, Gilliam, and Skinner, families, religious books such as Roman Catholic Missals, Episcopal Books of Common Prayer and Bibles, UNC-Chapel Hill diplomas (1824), and items related to the 1878 Exposition in Paris, France.
Papers include daily and monthly reports; trial statements; criminal investigation procedures; policies; training publications and the quizzers that accompanies them; certificates; commendation; newspaper and article clippings; photographs; negatives; brochures; flyers; signs; correspondence: two sets of notes of screenplay research on Garland Bunting; Kopka's retirement speech; sketch; armband; and a roster that lists violators.

This collection contains a photograph album belonging to East Carolina Teachers Training School alumnus Helen Virginia Wootton. It contains photographs of friends and events at ECTTS, her family, and various places in North Carolina including Wendell, Grimesland, and Zebulon.
Correspondence (1910-1911, 1913-1914) between Belva Agnes Ross and her parents William Henry Ross and Lida Baynor Little Ross and her brother Wilbur "Buddy" Ross while she is attending East Carolina Teachers Training School in Greenville, North Carolina. Wilbur Ross also started attending ECTTS with his sister in October 1910, but at some point he left to attend Guilford College. The Rosses were from Edward community about three miles east of Aurora in Beaufort County, North Carolina. Belva had to withdraw from school in January 1911 because she contracted the measles, but she returned to school at least by October 1913. Also included are abstracts of the correspondence created by Belva Ross's grandson Roy A. Archbell, Jr.
This collection (1910-1934, 1964) contains correspondence, photographs, postcards, official documents, two diaries/journals, and publications related to the World War I service of a nurse trained at Camp McClellan in Alabama and served in France. Also documented is her post-World War I service in Serbia with the Serbian Relief Committee of America.
Papers (1933–1987 [Bulk: 1941–1945]) of an American Red Cross volunteer who served on Guadalcanal, New Caledonia, and New Zealand, during World War II, including three drafts of her manuscript memoir of her service entitled Red Cross Adventure that was later published as No Drums, No Trumpets: Red Cross Adventure; Invitations, 1933, 1939, to Mary Ferebee Howard to attend the inauguration ceremonies for President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Vice President John N. This log book contains daily entries from October 29, 1816, through November 29, 1818, for the Schooner Hilan. John Hand is the Master of the schooner which sailed between eastern seaboard ports Philadelphia, Norfolk, Richmond, and Charleston. Entries cover weather, cargo listings, upkeep of the schooner, issues with crew members and passengers, and problems with the schooner related to harsh weather.

The Alice Morgan Person collection (1874-1943, 2004-2008) contains ledgers, testimonials, advertisements, correspondence, and news clippings related to the Mrs. Joe Person Remedy Company. The Remedy was developed by Alice M. Person (Mrs. Joe Person) of Franklinton, Charlotte, and Kittrell, North Carolina, and marketed by her and later her son Rufus M. Person. Other material pertains to the sale of her arrangements of popular songs, and to family life.
Papers (ca. 1857-1962) of the Barnhill and Roebuck families of Robersonville, Martin County, N.C., including correspondence and scrapbooks related to school life at Davenport College in Lenoir, N.C., and St. Mary's School in Raleigh, N.C., and Fairfax Hall in Basic, Va., in the 1910s and 1920s, and college life (1929-1930) at East Carolina Teachers' College (now East Carolina University) in Greenville, N.C. Also included are financial records and land records (especially for the Roebuck family for the 1870s through the 1920s), photographs and ECTC annuals.
The Company 517, U.S. Naval Training Station Group Photograph Collection consists of a single group image dated June 3, 1943, depicting members of Company 517 at a U.S. Naval Training Station during World War II. The reverse of the photograph is annotated with numbered identifications for numerous individuals, many accompanied by associated hometowns primarily from Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Iowa, and California. Several annotations are illegible or incomplete.
A collection including a logbook (9/11/1854-7/11/1863) for the ship Trafalgar, a packet ship with the City of Dublin Line, written by Captain Alfred William Harrison during its many voyages primarily between London, England and Madras, India, and other ports of call, a handwritten letter, a Mariner's Register Ticket, and other papers describing his voyages and medical illnesses, and a carte de visite of Capt. Harrison.
