The C. B. West collection consists of a ledger documenting construction projects of C. B. West and his son in Greenville and other cities; and materials purchased from such suppliers as W. H. Dail of Greenville; and three Greenville Mayor's Court record books documenting minor crimes in Greenville.

Moye Store on Evans St. in Greenville in the 1910s, the Amoco Dealers conventions in Washington, D.C.,and the most recent photograph comes from the late 1980s or early 1990s of the Pitt County, N.C., Sheriff's Department and includes coroner E. Joseph Hewes, William Hooper, and John Penn signed the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 4, 1776. All three men were delegates of North Carolina at varying times between 1774-1777. The collection spans 1925-1926 and includes two photographic prints and two letter correspondence. The strength of the collection are the photographic prints of two of the three North Carolina Declaration of Independence Signers and biographical notes.

Included are correspondence, land records, legal records, receipts, wills, and estate records related to the Laughinghouse and Pugh families of Pitt County, N.C., the related Bright and Loftin families of Lenoir County, N.C., and the Pipkin family of Wayne County, N.C. This material was transferred from the Emily Loftin Collection at the History Museum of Carteret County, N.C. Material related to Carteret County remains at the History Museum of Carteret County.
