Collection (1973–1989) of color slides documenting J. Y. Joyner Library at East Carolina University, in October 1973, prior to the construction of two extra floors and the addition of a new west wing to the building, for Library Science 1000 class; also photocopies of correspondence, historical research reports, and newspaper clippings about the Greenville Town Common Confederate flags controversy, in 1983–1989; also photocopies of newspaper clippings about the Confederate flag, 1983–1989. Collection also contains 4 photographs of individuals from the Collins-Becton family.

Papers (1805-1968; bulk 1860-1916) consisting of correspondence of a political nature, family-related correspondence, speeches, financial papers, farm records, farm account books, clippings, photographs, a diary and printed material related to Elias Carr and other members of the Carr and related families. Elias Carr (1839-1900) of Edgecombe County, a member of the Democratic Party, was the governor of North Carolina (1893-1897) and president of the N.C. State Farmers' Alliance and Industrial Union (1889-1892).

Collection (1848-2002) of Pace family papers, including documents; photograph and postcard albums; scrapbooks; loose photographs, deeds, legal documents, and newspaper clippings; printed yearbooks, catalogs, textbooks, and newspapers; genealogical charts, postcards, brochures, World War I Army Medical Corps documents, and ephemera relating to physician Dr. Karl Busbee Pace, Sr. and his sons, Dr. Karl B. Pace, Jr., Charles Taylor Pace, and J. T. W."Tommy" Pace and their families in Robeson, Chatham and Pitt counties, NC.

The Jack Minges Papers include photographs, clippings, and memorabilia related to the Minges family's relationship with East Carolina, especially the dedication of Minges Coliseum.

The collection includes letters (July 1918-March 1919) written by family members and friends in Jamesville, Martin County, North Carolina, to Asa J. Hardison while he was in World War I service with a medical detachment at Camp Greenleaf at Fort Oglethorpe in Chickamauga Park in Georgia and then at Camp Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina. Also included are two letters (1909-1910) written by Maggie Roberson (Martha Ann Whitley Roberson) of Jamesville to her brother.

Collection (1870-1878) of manuscripts and printed materials relating to the voyage of the Clipper Ship SS RINGLEADER from New York, NY to San Francisco, CA, via Shanghai, China, including a log book of the voyage by George E. Peer, photographic print of Captain W. E. Bray, ship's tracking chart, English and Swedish New Testaments, and 3 Chinese language newspapers. Purchased from Ten Pound Island Book Co.

The collection includes notes, hospital nursing manuals, and informational booklets and pamphlets about various diseases and their treatment. The papers belonged to Helen Marion while she was a student nurse in New Jersey in the mid-1950s.

Papers (1939-1949) of a U. S. Marine Corps aviator in the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, and later rose to Lt. General in command of the Pacific Fleet Marine Force, 1962, consisting of course notes, handouts, maps, overlays, manuals, logistical data, exercises, military events.

Collection (1904-1909) of grade reports, tuition bills, and academic progress letters relating to the education of Mattie Archbell Anderson at Dortch Academy, Rocky Mount, NC; Littleton Female College, Littleton, NC; Louisburg College, Louisburg, NC; and Louisburg Female College, Louisburg, NC. Also included are items (2008-2010, undated) related to Mrs. Anderson's daughter Mattie Archbell Anderson Bishop of Enfield, NC.

Papers (1861-1933, undated) of Greenville, NC singer, songwriter, and director of Jarvis Memorial Methodist Church including correspondence, news articles, photographs, genealogical information, portraits, etc.

Papers (1905-1999, undated) consisting of correspondence, minutes, reports, rosters, speeches, pamphlets, publications, yearbook, programs, clippings, photographs, farm ledgers, notebooks, bulletins, brochures, date book, deposition, will, contracts, inventory and poetry related to teacher Blanche Hardee Rives (1887-1973)and her family in Enfield, Halifax County, North Carolina. Also documented are her involvement in the Methodist Protestant (United Methodist Church after 1939),the Hardrawee Home Demonstration Club, the Halifax Co. Home Demonstration Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Halifax County Historical Association, Northeastern North Carolina Branch of the English-Speaking Union, Frank M. Parker Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and Littleton College Memorial Association.

The Woman's Club of Greenville, NC, was founded in April 1917 intending to raise Greenville to be equal with other cities in the state. Catherine "Kitty" Smith Joyner (b. 4 June 1932 – d. 2 Aug 2011), a native of Greenville N.C., worked with the Woman's Club of Greenville, NC, in the 1990's. This collection includes photographs of Greenville, N.C., and other locations in Pitt County, as well as a publication detailing the first fifty years of the Woman's Club of Greenville, NC.

The Max Ray Joyner, Sr. papers include awards, speeches, financial records, general correspondences, photographs, newspaper clippings, ephemera, and post cards from 1940-2018.
