Papers of Paul Green (1985) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Lillington, North Carolina-born American novelist and playwright whose works focus on North Carolina folklore and themes, consisting of incomplete sample proof pages of the first few pages of his dictionary of Cape Fear language and slang, entitled Cape Fear Valley People: A – B, covers, p. 1,4-6, by Paul Green; edited by Rhoda H. Wynn (1985) and transmittal note (16 March 1985) from Heritage Printers, Inc., Charlotte, NC, relating to possible publication; the text later appears in Paul Green's Wordbook: An Alphabet of Reminiscence, by Paul Green; edited by Rhoda H. Wynn; Foreword by John M. Ehle (Boone: Appalachian Consortium Press; Chapel Hill, N.C.: Paul Green Foundation, 1990) 2 vols.

This collection contains scrapbooks, photographs, and artifacts from Greene Residence Hall.

The Records of the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Studies are comprised of annual reports, general college proposal, bachelor of general studies proposal report, general college task force report minutes, general college committee minutes, orientation miscellaneous: announcements, brochures, and publications, institutional research statistics reports, strategic planning reports, undergraduate student manuals, undergraduate faculty manuals, miscellaneous: announcements, brochures, and publications.

"An Accurate Map of North and South Carolina with Their Indian Frontiers" by Henry Mouzon, first published in 1775. Created from detailed surveys conducted by Mouzon and others, the map offers a comprehensive depiction of the geographical and political landscape of the Carolinas prior to the American Revolution. It includes natural features such as mountains, rivers, swamps, and coastal soundings, along with manmade elements like roads, Indian paths, townships, and provincial boundaries. Widely regarded as one of the most authoritative maps of the region during the period, it was used extensively by both British and American forces during the Revolutionary War.

Papers (1926-1953) of Brig. General Paul A. Putnam, U. S. Marine Corps, an aviator, who was captured at Wake Island and was a POW in Japan, 1941-1945, consisting of correspondence, diaries, a photograph, clippings, citations, orders, recipe book, copies of awards, citations, publications, newspaper articles.

Collection (1844-1972) of material related to Craven Co., N.C., or to maritime topics. Cemetery records for Craven Co., N.C., list 800 tombstones and include some hand-drawn maps and local historical notes. Records of the New Bern Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, New Bern, N.C., include a minute book (1954-1966), membership roll calls, correspondence, clippings, notes, reports, resolutions, and other materials. Postcards, stereographs, and sheet music concern naval and maritime themes and include World War I patriotic sheet music. Scrapbook (1919-1922) contains clippings on the construction of concrete ships at the Newport Shipbuilding Corporation of New Bern, N.C., and on the New Bern Bears baseball team. Other postcards and printed materials concern the North Carolina Outer Banks ferries; Bethlehem Steel Corporation; and the U.S. Navy, including the USS Maine, early submarines USS Porpoise and USS Shark, the USS San Francisco, and a compilation of articles written during WWI for the onboard newspaper of the USS George Washington entitled The Hatchet of the United States Ship George Washington by Captain Edwin T. Pollock and Lieutenant Paul F. Bloomhardt.

Papers (1953-1991) of USAR officer, system engineer, and senior logistics analyst, including correspondence, a diary (1969-1976), photo albums, clippings, and miscellaneous materials.

Papers (1942-1997) of U.S. naval officer, who rose to the rank of rear admiral commanding the Navy's Recruiting Command and the Naval Inshore Warfare Forces, Atlantic Fleet, 1943-1973; East Carolina University graduate, (1943); businessman, 1973-1977; and head of North Carolina State Ports Authority (1979-1985), including documents, photographic prints and negatives, correspondence, certificates, clippings, printed forms, and printed materials.

Papers (1870, 1919-1974) of the U.S. Navy officer, including correspondence, photographs, reports, clippings, certificates, and miscellaneous materials.

Civil War era verse, a published account of the Civil War experiences of Henry Green Lewis, issues of the Semi-Weekly Raleigh Register (1854) and the North Carolina Presbyterian (1879) and a print of the Hotel Carolina in Durham, N.C.

Personal Files relating to activities of NC Board of Conservation and Development (1950-1953), NC Art Society (1962-1965), Pitt County Development Commission (1961-1971), Rotary Club of Greenville (1961-1971), United Nations, and miscellaneous activities. Also includes the book New Nigeria, Southern Baptists at Work written by C. Sylvester Green and published in 1936 by the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Papers (1911-1945) including correspondence of Bogue Banks, dairy farm, letters commentary, social activities, republican committee, financial papers, manuscripts, pamphlets, blue prints, etc.

Papers (1933-1973) of U. S. Marine Corps aviation officer (Major Gen.) who served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, and who retired as commander of the Cherry Point, NC Marine Air Station, including correspondence, reports, war diaries, citations, certificates, and military records.
