Biographical/historical information

The College of Engineering and Technology was originally founded as the Department of Industrial Arts under William McHenry in 1938. A major in Industiral Arts was first offered in 1949. The School of Technology was established in 1971 with the combined departments of Business Education and Office Administration and Industiral and Technical Education. The School would be renamed the School of Industry and Technology in 1988. The College was established in 2003 and was called the College of Technology and Computer Science. It finally became the College of Engineering and Technology in 2014.

The College houses four departments which include the Department of Computer Science, the Department of Construction Management, the Department of Engineering, and the Department of Technology Systems. The College also has six centers. These include the Career Development and Leadership Center, the Center for Innovation in Technology and Engineering, The Center for IoT Engineering and Innovation, the Center for Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering, the Eastern Region Pharma Center, and the Student Sucess Center.

The College offers Bachelors of Science degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Construction Management, Design, Industrial Distribution and Logistics, Industrial Engineering Technology, Information and Cybersecurity Technology, Industrial Technology, and Engineering with concentrations in Biomedical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

The College also offers Masters of Science degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Construction Management, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Technology Management, Network Technology, and Occupational Safety, and a PhD in Technology Management.
